We already saw how heated things got when Israel Adesanya faced off against Dricus Du Plessis after the latter’s win over Robert Whittaker. With the weekend approaching soon, fans can surely expect fireworks from their title fight. Adesanya hasn’t forgotten what ‘Stillknocks’ said about his African roots and has clapped back with comments of his won every chance he got. This time, ‘Izzy’ took a shot at Du Plessis, claiming that he lacked respect for the original inhabitants of the continent of Africa.

“Imagine not knowing how to pay respects to the Original People of the land you stand on. Oh wait,” Israel Adesanya stated in a post he shared on X with a video of him performing the Haka dance, a native Polynesian tradition that’s prevalent in the Oceanic and Samoan region, highlighting that he embraces the culture of the nation that embraced him, New Zealand.

Will Dricus Du Plessis respond? Well, he might, but then we also have the press conference coming soon and maybe he’d blow up there. That remains to be seen.

Conor McGregor refutes Dana White’s claim about his return

Dana White can not seem to avoid questions about Conor McGregor and his impending return. When asked recently on the DWCS presser, he mentioned having a chat with the Irishman, but 2024 seems uncertain. He might return next year, but McGregor didn’t seem too pleased with White publicly claiming the fighting in 2024 is a bust. ‘The Notorious’ took to X and reminded Dana White that “December is the date.”

“Ah Dana, December is the date! Bring the calendar year home with a winning event! Come on now, what’s this? I am off to altitude next month to prepare. DECEMBER! Tell Dana and UFC WE WANT DECEMBER! WE DESERVE DECEMBER!,” McGregor wrote via his official X account.

The former dual-weight champ even revealed that he’s going to undergo some rigorous high-altitude training in the coming month, intending to make it inside the Octagon in December, even urging fans to demand a December return for Conor McGregor. There’s nothing certain at the moment, as we wait to see how Michael Chandler will reply to this cry from ‘The Notorious’. Now, let’s move over to the last piece of noteworthy story.

No chance to become double champion yet for Islam Makhachev

The pride of Dagestan and the protégé of Khabib Nurmagomedov silenced his critics after putting on an all-round performance to put one of the greatest lightweights ever, Dustin Poirier, to sleep at UFC 302. What now? Well, Arman Tsarukyan‘s waiting for the chance, but Islam Makhachev is currently injured. But besides his lightweight plans, the 32-year-old also dabbled in the idea of trying to conquer the welterweight division, which seems unlikely to happen in the near future as Belal Muhammad is the champion. And guess what? He doesn’t want to scramble with Makhachev.

“I don’t think so [I’ll fight Makhachev]. Like for me, it’s more so about like the respect and what they’ve done for me that I would never wanna like, tarnish that,” Belal Muhammad stated on ‘The Fighter and The Kid’ podcast. It will be interesting to see what Islam Makhachev thinks about this situation, and how long he might have to wait to get the double champion status.
