With another 24 hours in the past, we have some interesting developments in our favorite sport, MMA. We have a new daily roundup edition to help you out with that. So, the first news caters to Islam Makhachev, who seemed to have a different outlook on the prospect of Jon Jones fighting Tom Aspinall than UFC CEO Dana White.

Following that story, we will dive into the story of Conor McGregor, who shared some encouraging words for Chelsea Chandler after her loss at UFC Vegas 95. Finally, this roundup will end with Israel Adesanya, who still hasn’t moved past the comments Dricus du Plessis made last year.

Tom Aspinall is now one of the top stars of the UFC at the moment. Having registered quick-fire finishes and championship wins, the English star has been itching for a fight against Jon Jones. However, Dana White believes that ‘Bones’ fighting former 2-time champion Stipe Miocic should take precedence, given the part-time firefighter’s standing as a legend of the heavyweight division. Well, lightweight champion Islam Makhachev doesn’t seem to agree with the UFC CEO as he believes that Aspinall “deserves” a shot against Jones because he’s already the interim title holder.

Moreover, Islam Makachev has been following Tom Aspinall in action inside the Octagon for a while now. How he defeated so many fighters within the first and second rounds has made the lightweight champion believe that the self-proclaimed ‘honey badger’ is a force to be reckoned with. “What he did with his last opponent… spent two minutes for two guys… this guy is one of the dangerous guys in the world right now,” Makhachev told ‘Hosheh MMA’. Will Dana White take this into account? That remains to be seen.

Chelsea Chandler became a source of memes when she fought Norma Dumont last year. She ran away from her during a striking exchange, as she lost via decision. However, she was able to come back with a win in her next fight against Josiane Nunes, but she could not maintain that winning consistency as she lost her recent fight at UFC Vegas 95 to Yana Santos, registering another decision loss. Regardless, Conor McGregor popped up on social media, and he had some pleasant words for Chandler.

“Chelsea is a good girl,” stated Conor McGregor in a now-deleted tweet. This was unexpected because there hasn’t been any information about Chelsea Chandler having a connection with ‘The Notorious’ besides the fact that they’re both UFC fighters. Nevertheless, she would be taking these kind words from a legend like McGregor and would seek to make a triumphant comeback next time out.

Israel Adesanya is looking to make Dricus du Plessis pay for his past statements

When Dricus du Plessis stated, “I’m gonna take the belt to Africa. I am the African fighter in the UFC,” it lit a serious fire in Israel Adesanya. He called out the South African for his supposed demeaning comments and since then, he had been looking forward to teaching him a lesson inside the Octagon. But in the wake of du Plessis pulling out of the previously scheduled fight at UFC 293, ‘Izzy’ never got that chance. But those words are still in his mind and he wants to hold ‘Stillknocks’ accountable for it.

“Now we’ll fight and settle the score. But nah, it’s not really personal. What he said is blasphemous because without myself, Francis, and Kamaru – he wouldn’t be able to be champion or whatever. What he said was really blasphemous and he’ll take accountability for what he said. He’ll be forced to,” Israel Adesanya told ‘MMA Junkie’. Now, ‘Izzy’ will not only have a chance to sort the beef with Dricus du Plessis but also has the chance to join Randy Couture as the only two fighters to have held a divisional title three times in their UFC careers.
