The pre-UFC 288 stare-downs showcased a number of signs which might make the fans believe that the event would be an enthraller. Despite most fighters having quiet stare-downs, there was quite some drama as well.
The most heated stare-down was the one between the UFC 288 main eventers, Aljamain Sterling and Henry Cejudo. Both of them constantly took verbal shots at each other the entire time of their stare-down. It ended with Cejudo shoving Sterling, who also threw a hand at his opponent before being separated by the security.
The stare-down between Belal Muhammad and Gilbert Burns for the co-main event of UFC 288 also had every chance of getting heated. It was probably Dana White’s signal of ‘enough’ that saved a scuffle between the two.

Demetrious Johnson defended his ONE Flyweight Championship successfully
The highly anticipated main event of ONE Fight Night 10 finally concluded with yet another moment of pride for the ‘Mighty Mouse’, Demetrious Johnson. A win in a trilogy bout against the former ONE Flyweight champ, Adriano Moraes, cemented Johnson’s legacy in the sport even more.
Previously, the two had their scores tied at one victory each from their two meetings. This was probably the factor that made this trilogy way more interesting. Both combatants showcased some awesome defensive techniques in the fight.
But Johnson showcased an uncharacteristic move as he opened up Moraes’s mouth with a few awesome shoulder strikes from the multiple clinches they went into. A few flying knees to the standing Moraes also enthralled the Denver crowd. On the other hand, Moraes was unable to display anything special, which had the judges declaring the bout in ‘Mighty Mouse’s’ favor via a unanimous decision.

Johnson also announced that he probably will have one more fight in the promotion, clarifying the questions regarding his retirement from MMA.
Israel Adesanya revealed his disliking for Henry Cejudo
The current UFC Middleweight champ Israel Adesanya probably wasn’t a fan of the former UFC champ-champ, Henry Cejudo. In a recent video on his own YouTube channel, Adesanya picked the fighter whom he believed would win the UFC 288 main event. Understandably, ‘Izzy’ chose the current UFC Bantamweight kingpin, Aljamain Sterling, as his choice to win the UFC 288 main event.

Adesanya stated, “I’m gonna pick Aljo because I don’t like Henry. See, I don’t have to make no bullsh*t up and try and like justify. I’ll just say I don’t like it. I don’t like the munchkin. I don’t like Henry Cejudo”. He further laid stress on his disliking for ‘Triple C’, mentioning “Yeah, I said your name little f*cking b*tch… For such a small man, he lets his emotions cloud his judgment. He starts to get real hater vibes because he thinks that me being great takes away from his greatness where I’m like, ‘Nah, you’re great in your own lane.’”
