After his win over Nursulton Rouziboev earlier this year, Joaquin Buckley made a bold call-out of Conor McGregor that left a bad taste for many in the MMA Sphere. One of those figures was UFC commentator and former ‘champ-champ’, Daniel Cormier.

Dubbing McGregor a “McH*e”, Buckley had even taken shots at his family. When Cormier later commented that he wasn’t a fan of the callout, the UFC welterweight added more fuel to the fire by firing off on social media against Cormier, Michael Bisping, and Chael Sonnen as he stated, “Ya mommas raised some h*es!!”

Now, ahead of Buckley’s UFC 307 fight against Stephen Thompson, Cormier and Buckley sat down to have a conversation. Buckley started off by stating, “What you said was kind of harsh bro, I mean, you know what I’m saying, you called me a p**sy and everything…” referring to Cormier’s tirade against his remarks on social media.

What’s your perspective on:

Is Daniel Cormier right to call out Joaquin Buckley, or is he overstepping his bounds?

Have an interesting take?

But the Louisiana native responded with, “No, because absolutely when you say anything about my mom, that’s what you’re going to get. You don’t get Daniel the TV dude no more, you get Daniel the dude from Lafayette. That’s what you get, at the end of the day bro, I swear to god. Every time.”

It’s a stark reminder that in MMA, trash talk can sometimes feel like a personal attack, leading to a switch being flipped for many fighters. In fact, even though Henry Cejudo tried to make an informed prediction about the struggles Kayla Harrison might face at UFC 307, the women’s bantamweight star wasn’t having any of it.

Kayla Harrison isn’t pleased with Henry Cejudo’s warning for her at UFC 307

At UFC 307, Kayla Harrison is going to be facing no. 2 ranked Ketlen Viera in a crucial matchup in the women’s bantamweight division. But should she be worried about her opponent’s background? According to ‘Triple C’ Henry Cejudo, Harrison may find herself struggling due to Viera’s Judo credentials.

In a recent episode of the Pound 4 Pound podcast with Kamaru Usman, Cejudo claimed, “…I think out of all the girls right now at 135-pounds that could match her strength, because you know Vieira’s a Judo blackbelt as well and she’s got, in my opinion, she has better hands than Harrison.”

As a two-time Olympic gold medalist in Judo, Harrison wasn’t happy with the analysis. She fired back in an interview with Submission Radio by stating, “I don’t know why the hell they’re talking about a judo black belt making a difference like there are levels. That would be like me telling Henry, ‘Oh this kid wrestling in varsity in high school so you’re gonna struggle to take him down’. Benign. Asinine. That’s all right, I look forward to showing once again why Henry is a jealous little man.”

While the shade being thrown at Cejudo is quite a sight, Harrison’s confidence is riding high after demolishing Holly Holm at UFC 300. So, with that being said, will the Olympian continue her meteoric ascent through the UFC or will Cejudo’s warning come back to haunt her?

Alexander Volkanovski doesn’t care about “older” Jose Aldo as he backs former champion

As the excitement builds for UFC 307, legendary fighter Jose Aldo is set to make his mark once again. The former featherweight champion is coming off a unanimous decision win over Jonathan Martinez at UFC 301. Despite being 38 years old, ‘The King of Rio’ hasn’t shown any signs of slowing down and according to Alexander Volkanovski, he’s still as dangerous as ever!

Speaking on his YouTube channel, the Australian fighter shared, “I’m gonna go with Aldo… I don’t care if people are saying he’s getting older. For them to control him, his takedown defense is gonna be too solid, and then he’s pretty tidy on the feet. I can’t see (you beating Aldo) unless you’re elite.”
