Jon Jones prefers the old gloves
It seems like the UFC introduced the new gloves only to go back to using the old ones, despite NYSAC’s approval of the new gear. It appears that Jon Jones didn’t quite like the way the new ones were designed due to fitting issues. During the recent media day appearance, A “relieved” Jones stated, “I’m really excited about the old gloves [because] I got sent a pair of the new gloves several weeks ago. I tried them on, and they were tight. I used to fit in XL, and in the new gloves, I was a 3 XL. The shape, curving your hands like that – they were very uncomfortable.”

When Jon Jones first tried on the new gloves, he started growing concerned about fighting Stipe Miocic with these gloves. But, at the need, the UFC decided to help the veteran fighters by letting them use the old ones. “I was actually really stressed thinking about how am I going to go into fight week wearing these gloves that I don’t even want to train in.”
“When I got a phone call recently, Hunter [Campbell] said, ‘Everyone on this card are veterans… Let’s give you guys all what you’re used to,'” Jon Jones added. Do you think these gloves will make any difference? Before we get that answer, let’s move over to what Charles Oliveira had to say about the fight against Michael Chandler.
