Dana White and UFC takes a sigh of relief as $375 million settlement approved by courts

After years of battling against the former fighters, it appears that UFC CEO Dana White had to give in to their demands but the payout appears to be set out in favor of the UFC. A $375 million settlement was issued by a Nevada judge and it has been approved by the plaintiffs as well as the judge. Last month, the TKO group and the plaintiffs agreed to settle one of the two anti-trust lawsuits against the promotion, and on  Tuesday, Judge Richard Franklin Boulware II approved the terms of the agreement.

“Today’s decision is welcome news for both parties,” said a UFC spokesperson to ESPN. He further added, “We are pleased to be another step closer to bringing the Le case to a close.” In addition to the UFC representative, Eric Cramer, lead attorney for the plaintiffs stated that they are extremely pleased with what Judge Richard Franklin Boulware has approved.

He further added, “It is a monumental achievement that will get significant relief to hundreds of deserving MMA fighters. We honor our brave representative plaintiffs who fought for this result for ten years. And we look forward to pursuing significant business changes and more damages in our second antitrust case against the UFC.”  Well, the second anti-trust lawsuit is yet to be concluded, so the promotion might still have some challenging days ahead of them. “If Belal remains champion, it would be a walk in the park for me to go up and win the welterweight title… he’s a bum. Really, really bad,” said Ilia Topuria as he straight out denied Belal Muhammad as a champion.
