There have been a lot of developments in the world of MMA over the last 24 hours. However, fans often miss out on some of the most significant events in our favorite sports due to the lack of time and the strenuous schedule of daily life. Dana White planning to host a UFC event at the MSG Sphere during Mexican Independence Day

Noche UFC was a success, to say the least. Despite the controversial ending to the event, it garnered over $2 million in ticket sales. As such, UFC CEO Dana White is determined to hold another event on the same date next year on a much bigger scale. Moreover, he is eyeing the $2.3 billion-worth MSG Sphere in Las Vegas as the venue for the next Mexican Independence Day event.

“I want to do the Mexican Independence Day there. Imagine the show I can put on the [MSG] Sphere with Mexican Independence Day,” said Dana White during the recent Contender Series pressers. Moreover, he even shared words of praise for Madison Square Garden Company.

Dana White claimed that the owners of Madison Square Garden achieved a monumental feat with the establishment of the Sphere. However, the UFC CEO had no doubt in their abilities since he believes that they are the biggest players when it comes to making arenas.

Islam Makhachev is eyeing another UFC championship belt

The reigning lightweight champion is gearing up for his rematch against Charles Oliveira at UFC 294. Meanwhile, Islam Makhachev recently appeared in an interview with ‘ESPN’, where he stated that he wants to conquer another weight class, which is the welterweight division. He wants to face the winner of Colby Covington vs. Leon Edwards.

“Of course, I am under contract, so whatever the UFC says, I will fight, no problem,” said Makhachev. He further added, “But Edwards vs. Colby – I really believe I can beat [the winner].” It may not come as a surprise that the Dagestan native wants the welterweight strap. There have been many fighters who eye to become a double champion and even Colby Covington called out Islam Makhachev earlier. So we might get to see that fight in the future.

Stipe Miocic reveals if he plans to retire after fighting Jon Jones

Former two-time UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic will return to action in November against Jon Jones. It will be Bones’s first heavyweight title defense and first fight for Miocic in over two years. The part-time firefighter-cum-UFC fighter sat down for an interview with ‘MMA Fighting’, where he opened up on whether he was thinking of retirement after fighting Jon Jones. This was with regard to when Jon Jones mentioned that he might consider hanging up his gloves after fighting Miocic.

Regardless of him being 41 years old, Stipe Miocic is not thinking too much about what lies in his future. He is currently looking to put up a great performance. Miocic said, “I thought about that [retirement] after my first UFC fight… but right now, I’m focussed on November 11. That’s all I care about.” He mentioned that he would think about it after his upcoming fight. We will have to wait and see how that unfolds.
