Dana White bashed Frank Collazo comparing it to a previous infamous incident

The MMA referee, Frank Collazo, made massive headlines recently. But for all the wrong reasons. Collazo was officiating in a ‘Fury FC’ bout between Edgar Chairez and Gianni Vazquez. In the fourth round, Chairez caught Vasquez in a triangle lock which had the latter passing out. But, Collazo failed to notice Vasquez going limp and allowed the bout to continue until Vasquez regained consciousness and tapped out.

This infamous incident had a lot of noted MMA world personalities criticizing Collazo, including the UFC boss, Dana White. At the post-UFC San Antonio press conference, White compared Collazo’s mistake to a similar previous slip by the referee, Steve Mazzagatti. The UFC supremo said, “Everybody makes mistakes, but if a guy gets choked unconscious and then they pull him into an armbar and I mean, it doesn’t get any worse than that.”

He continued, “It’s the one that I went after [Steve] Mazzagatti so bad about when Josh Burkman choked out, [forgets John Fitch’s name], the wrestler, choked him unconscious and Mazzagatti had no idea.” However, he remembered Fitch’s name just after this.

Conor McGregor suggested the addition of a rule to the MMA rulebook

The noted UFC icon Conor McGregor had also witnessed the UFC San Antonio like all the other UFC fans. But McGregor, with his in-octagon experience, also noticed some points which most regular fans had missed out on.

McGregor took to Twitter at the end of the fourth round and suggested that a point-deduction rule should be applied for a deliberate spit or nose blow. He also noticed and tweeted about the main eventers discharging huge blobs of spit and snot rockets. McGregor’s now-deleted tweets read, “One gollier of a spit and two snot rockets each nostril just now from both fighters at end of the 4th. It’s a ridiculous habit some people have. It should be abolished via threat of point deduction.”

In another tweet, Mystic Mac wrote, “There should be no spitting or snot rockets permitted in the octagon whatsoever. Should be a point deduction”. His tweets substantiated his hatred towards such gross activities inside the octagon.
