A journalist by the name of Guilherme Cruz recently weighed in on Dustin Poirier, claiming that the fight between him and Benoit Saint-Denis was off. Due to the difference in financial agreement for the fight, ‘The Diamond’ told ESPN that the fight was scrapped. Furthermore, the journalist also reported that Saint-Denis’s coaching staff was unaware of the things that were taking place regarding his fight.

However, Dana White did not like what the journalist had reported. He took to social media and shared a few screenshots of a conversation he had with Benoit Saint-Denis, where both parties reached an agreement for the fight to take place. White then went on a rant, as he did not spare Guilherme Cruz for the incorrect reporting.

“You media guys are such pieces of sh*t. Writing whatever clickbait u can to be first and not right. This is why NOBODY trusts or likes you. Guilherme Cruz,” wrote Dana White. The UFC CEO was clearly annoyed and irritated regarding the issue and decided to take matters into his own hands with this message.

Joe Rogan is not a fan of the Max Holloway vs. Justin Gaethje fight

The UFC color commentator-cum-podcast host doesn’t think that Max Holloway fighting Justin Gaethje is a good idea. During the recent JRE ‘Fight Companion’ episode, Joe Rogan was vocal about his dislike for ‘Blessed’ choosing to fight at lightweight since he did not fare too well against Dustin Poirier when he made the move to 155 lbs before.

“You know what I hate? Max is a great ’45-pounder, but Dustin Poirier beat him up at ’55 lbs,” said Joe Rogan. He believes that Alexander Volkanovski could be fighting Max Holloway after fighting Ilia Topuria, and as such, the former featherweight champion should be focusing on fighting at 145 lbs.

‘The Diamond’ recently took the MMA fans by surprise after claiming that his fight against Benoit Saint-Denis had been canceled. He claimed the negotiation between him and the UFC did not go well and hence the fight was called off. However, in a recent tweet, Dustin Poirier made a surprising U-turn and confirmed that he will indeed fight Saint-Denis at UFC 299.

“Sorry folks, I jumped the gun, I couldn’t get a hold of my manager for a few days. I just spoke with him and Hunter. Misunderstanding on my part. Fight is on! See you March 9th Miami,” tweeted Dustin Poirier. This seemingly made fans point their fingers at Dana White for announcing such a high-profile fight without both fighters getting on the same page regarding the contract negotiations. We will have to wait and see how things pan out on 9th March.
