Conor McGregor is about to make a comeback to UFC with his fight against Michael Chandler at UFC 303. However, the former dual-weight champion has caught a fish much bigger than his return to UFC. Last month, we got the news that Conor McGregor’s Sports and Entertainment Company partnered up with Triller (BKFC’s parent company). BKFC president, David Feldman announced that McGregor has bought some stakes in the entity and is now the co-owner of it.

The news rattled the MMA scene as McGregor has become the co-owner of one of the biggest fighting promotions in the world. Nonetheless, the actual amount of shares held by the former UFC champ was never disclosed but Feldman’s recent outing with Ariel Helwani seems to have answered the question. While having a conversation with ‘TheMMAHour’, Feldman revealed that Conor Mcgregor has such amount of stakes in the company which will be enough for him to decide the path of the entity.
“I’m gonna let him disclose what he wants to disclose about that. I’m going to tell you that he has needle-moving equity. He has very substantial equity in the company. He has enough equity to really make a big play here, and um, you know, I think he’s going to, okay?” said Feldman. Well, he never disclosed the actual numbers but for him to have a big play in the game, it’s just probable that McGregor has at least a 20% stake in the company. Now that we know about his stake let’s move forward to Colby Covington and Ian Garry.
Colby Covington might not fight Ian Garry
Let’s keep this simple. Colby Covington and Ian Garry are two of the biggest names in the welterweight division and both of them are having beef ever since ‘Chaos’ called out Garry for the antics of his wife. It’s just natural that after so much banter, Garry wanted to fight Covington but ‘Chaos’ was not in the mood to give the undefeated Irishman a fight.
The former welterweight title contender has time and time again argued that he is not looking to fight Garry as he is ranked #7th while on the other hand he ranks in the top 5. In his latest escapade, Covington seems to have put the final nail in the coffin. While in conversation with Kacper Rosolowski and Dennis Shkuratov on Submission Radio, Covington completely disregarded any plans for his fight with Garry.“It doesn’t matter if I fight this schmuck or some other schmuck. But either way, you know, I preferably like to go forward, you know. I want to be back in the title picture.” said Covington.
He further emphasized that Garry’s position was completely irrelevant to him- “Like, he does nothing for my career. Why would I fight a guy like this? I fight a guy like this, I go out there and beat this guy, everybody’s just going to be like ‘Oh. it’s a freaking nobody’, you know. There’s local jobbers on the independent circuit that are undefeated. So big deal, you took his- Oh he hasn’t beat anybody. He’s a nobody. So, it’s just- The fight does nothing for my career.” With this statement, the possibility of Covington vs. Garry seems to be a grim situation. Nonetheless, they might not face at UFC 303 but they will be facing each other sooner or later. Now let’s move on to Alex Pereira.

The new Topps X UFC commercial featured the light heavyweight champion in it and it was as hilarious as possible. Topps is responsible for UFC collectible cards and they recently released a commercial where Alex Pereira was the centrepiece. ‘Poatan’ acted as the store guy when a fan came there to trade Pereira cards. Well, you can argue that he was not acting at all as he was just being natural.
Nonetheless, the commercial is hilarious and it explains the importance of Pereira in the promotion. What’s your opinion about it? State your thoughts in the comments below.
