Conor McGregor admits to throwing real kicks while shooting ‘Road House’

The former UFC double champ is making his acting debut in the remake of 1989’s ‘Road House.’ Considering the movie has quite a lot of fight scenes, McGregor couldn’t have been a better fit for the role. However, despite being a perfect fit for the movie, the Irishman’s co-stars might have had a painful time on the set, considering how Conor McGregor claimed to have thrown real kicks during filming.

In an interview with ESPN MMA, McGregor told Marc Raimondi about his time on the set filming fight scenes. ‘The Notorious’ stated, I put a few of them down, yeah. Spinning back kicks and all yeah. Spinning back kicks to the ribs with a couple of head kicks, a couple of side kicks to the head as well. A couple of sidekicks to the head. There’s a lot of, there’s action on the [set]… I was out on sea as well. I was at sea. Fighting. And I won’t tell the story, but it was some real shots for sure. And then it’s no problem we can do. We can choreograph also, no problem. It was a new craft and you know, it blended well to what I already do.”

With Conor McGregor hyping and promoting the movie as much as he is, the intrigue for fans to watch him in the movie only seems to be growing. You can watch ‘Road House’ on Prime Video in a few hours as it is set to release on March 21st, 2024. Meanwhile, McGregor’s prospective off-screen opponent is getting chirpier.

Michael Chandler puts out a sarcastic tweet about his possible fight in summer

Michael Chandler has been out of action ever since his loss to Dustin Poirier back in 2022 at UFC 281. Chandler has been waiting for a shot at ‘The Notorious’ ever since the two coached the Ultimate Fighter season 31. However, the fight kept falling out for one reason or the other. Now ‘Iron’ might have a fight on his hands against Conor McGregor in the coming summer.

After the news, Chandler took to X (Twitter) to address the possible fight. In his tweet, Chandler sarcastically wrote, “I’m not sure I’ll be ready for a summer fight…this came out of the blue…I’ve been out of the loop. Can y’all ask Dana to confirm this?” Given how the talk of the fight has been around for such a long time, it would certainly be interesting to see the two finally throw down inside the octagon.

Rose Namajunas’ change in cornerman for UFC Vegas 89

Former two-time UFC strawweight champion, Rose Namajunas will headline the UFC Vegas 89 card alongside Amanda Ribas this Saturday. ‘Thug’ Rose has been one of the top fighters in her division but has recently been on a two-fight losing streak. She lost her strawweight strap against Carla Esparza at UFC 274. Her next fight on her move up to flyweight against Manon Fiorot would bear the same result. But what surprised fans, even more, was head coach Trevor Wittman not cornering “Thug Rose”.

Sports Journalist Shakiel Mahjouri revealed that the renowned coach, Trevor Wittman, will not be accompanying Rose Namajunas for her fight against Amanda Ribas. This would be the second consecutive fight that Wittman would be away from cornering the 31-year-old.
