There, the Dagestan native laid bare his thoughts on a potential title fight against Pereira, who he believes is “overrated.”

“He definitely has a strong punch, but overall his standup is overrated,” said Magomed Ankalaev. He further claimed that Alex Pereira is fortunate not to have crossed oath against serious opposition, which is unusual because ‘Poatan’ has already bested three former 205-pound champions.

“He was lucky, he didn’t face serious opposition. Wrestling is there, but I’m ready to fight him standing up to test him out,” Ankalaev added. Is this the fight for Pereira next? On the other hand, ‘Blessed’ appeared to refute that claim, and instead accused ‘El Matador’ of trying to avoid that fight. Well, things seem to have escalated to another level as both fighters went on a verbal tirade against each other on social media.

“God bless you brother. Nothing against you! But it brings me great joy to be the first to disconnect you.. It seems so fun,” said Ilia Topuria on X. That comment quickly prompted Max Holloway to issue a reply as he stated, “God bless brother. Same here my man. You should disconnect from social media. I know it seems fun but it’s really not it.”
