Conor McGregor credits Dana White for his Forbes honor
As the UFC rises in popularity, expanding its global reach, Dana White has also become a pretty well-known figure in not just combat sports but in the media as a whole. Besides his top-tier MMA promotion, the 55-year-old has also invested in other businesses, forging a bank account worth reportedly half a billion dollars. Recently, the UFC CEO got featured on the cover of the ‘Populist Capitalist’ edition of Forbes Magazine, and Conor McGregor appeared pretty pumped about it and made an honest confession.

Conor McGregor earned the title of the highest-paid athlete, edging past global soccer stars Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi. He reportedly earned a sum of $180 million, which can mostly be credited to the sale of his former whisky brand, Proper No. 12, and his fight against Floyd Mayweather. But would that have been possible without making his mark in the UFC and getting the chances that Dana White gave him to establish himself as the one true superstar of MMA? Well, McGregor admits the UFC head honcho played a vital role when he congratulated him for his Forbes Magazine cover honor.
“[Dana White] congrats on the [Forbes] cover. A man that helped me top the Forbes Highest Paid Athlete list,” ‘The Notorious’ wrote on Instagram. While we wait to see when and if the promoter responds to this message, let’s take a look at the next big story in this daily roundup.

Leon Edwards comes clean on his loss to Belal Muhammad
Leon Edwards got outclassed by Belal Muhammad and dropped the title in that manner certainly didn’t sit well with the former welterweight champion. And he recently revealed that he was irked by ‘Remember the Name’ for suggesting that he retire. At 33 years old, Edwards has a few more good years in him, but he did consider retiring because of his feelings towards Muhammad.

But ‘Rocky’ is coming back for the title, like every other former champion. However, his reason is a bit different because Leon Edwards just can’t picture Belal Muhammad as a champion. “Every time I see him on Twitter, I think for f—k’s sake. He said to me, ‘If you’ve lost you’re going to retire’. I wish I was going to retire, because he’s annoying,” Edwards stated on The Ariel Helwani Show. “The belt doesn’t look right on him. But it is what it is.”
Belal Muhammad never backs down from confronting people who aren’t very fond of him. So maybe he strikes back at Leon Edwards. But apart from his rivalry with Muhammad, ‘Rocky’ has a big task ahead of him this weekend against Sean Brady, and before we see how things pan out for him after the fight, let’s take a look at the last story of this edition.
