Demetrious Johnson shares details regarding Conor McGregor’s earnings in the UFC

‘Mighty Mouse’ is one of the greatest fighters of all time. There’s absolutely no doubt about that. He defended his UFC flyweight title eleven times in five years. However, Demetrious Johnson still wasn’t earning as much as other high-profile fighters did in Dana White‘s promotion.

The most important thing that the UFC CEO refused to give the ‘DJ’ was pay-per-view points. The flyweight legend even expressed his disdain towards White for paying Conor McGregor significantly more, even though he never defended any of his UFC titles.

“They [lightweight, welterweight, middleweight, or heavyweight fighters] got pay-per-view points every single time. So, when Conor became champion, he got $500,000 flat pay-per-view points. Jon Jones got $500,000 flat, pay-per-view points… They disclose $500,000 flat, but that’s what they got. For me, it was never that,” said Johnson.

We will have to wait and see if either Conor McGregor or Dana White reacts to this confession from ‘Mighty Mouse’.

Khabib Nurmagomedov is a fan of Georges St-Pierre

UFC Hall of Famer and former two-weight champion, Georges St-Pierre, recently made an appearance on ‘Pound 4 Pound with Kamaru and Henry‘, where he spoke about fellow Hall of Famer and lightweight legend Khabib Nurmagomedov, and made a comparison between their fighting styles. ‘The Eagle’ seemed to have come across ‘GSP’s statements as he issued a response to it on social media.

Khabib Nurmagomedov claimed to have learned a bunch of things about MMA than any other fighter in history. Moreover, the fact that somebody whom he looked up to mentioned his name during a conversation is nothing but a big win for the 29-0 legend. “I learn from this guy a lot. Even hear he talk about me is so interesting )))) GSP all day,” wrote Nurmagomedov. Through this response, we can assume that both legends have a healthy amount of respect for each other.

Chael Sonnen expresses concern for Khamzat Chimaev vs. Robert Whittaker fight

Dana White recently dropped an announcement for a blockbuster middleweight main event fight for the Saudi Arabia event. The show will be headlined by Khamzat Chimaev fighting former champion Robert Whittaker in a title contender’s match. The announcement of this fight has sparked many discussions, including Chael Sonnen raising some questions regarding it.

Speculations were rife that ‘Borz’ would secure a title shot after defeating Kamaru Usman at UFC 294. However, ‘The American Gangster’ revealed an interesting twist by pointing out that Khamzat Chimaev is facing a potential travel ban imposed by the United States authorities.

This travel ban is believed to be the cause of the delay in Borz’s title fight. Considering this situation, granting him another title contender’s fight might not bring significant benefits to the Emirati fighter due to the travel ban.

“If there is a problem with giving Chimaev that opportunity due to a potential travel ban, then it wouldn’t matter whether he won the fight or not when it comes to moving forward and fighting for the belt,” said Chael Sonnen. It remains to be seen how things pan out for Khamzat Chimaev following the fight against Robert Whittaker.
