UFC’s appeal gets rejected amidst ongoing antitrust lawsuit

The UFC has been on the rise as one of the biggest fight promotions in the world. However, they are currently embroiled in an antitrust lawsuit, which could prove to be a financial nightmare for Dana White‘s promotion. According to a recent report by ‘MMA Fighting’, the parent company of the UFC, ‘Zuffa’, suffered a major setback. They failed in their attempts to dismiss the lawsuit.

The attorneys of the UFC appealed to the federal judge against his decision to grant the group of fighters, who are suing the promotion, the designation of ‘class’. However, that appeal was dismissed. The recent report suggests that if the UFC were to lose the lawsuit, they could incur losses of up to $800 million to even $1.6 billion. It remains to be seen how things turn out for Dana White and Co. in the coming months.

Derrick Lewis releases statement after the news of his arrest

Recently, reports emerged that UFC heavyweight Derrick Lewis was arrested on charges of misdemeanor for reckless driving. The report suggests that ‘The Black Beast’ was riding in a red Lamborghini and reached speeds above 135 mph in a 50 mph zone. However, that does not seem to be the case. Lewis opened up about that incident.

Derrick Lewis claims that the person driving the Lamborghini was not him. He mentioned that the driver had hair, but the UFC heavyweight had a bald head. Lewis said, “Nah, I don’t think that was me… That guy had hair. You seen the picture? I don’t go no hair. That ain’t me.” ‘The Black Beast’ may have shared a laugh about that incident but has a fight coming up soon. He will hope to come out on top after a knockout win in his last fight but also retain his funny bone.
