At Wembley Stadium, Anthony Joshua suffered a heart-breaking setback in his quest for the IBF world heavyweight title. Joshua was knocked down early in the first round with a heavy overhand by Dubois and the pressure didn’t relent one bit. The reigning IBF heavyweight champion continued to find his shots and in the 5th round, he finally found the punch to end the show.

Before the final blow, Joshua had already been knocked down 4-times, but the ring-side camera managed to capture one particular face and its reaction. Who was it? Conor McGregor! The Irish MMA icon was present at the bout and as Joshua crumbled under Dubois’s onslaught, ‘The Notorious’ could be seen raising his hands in the air and yelling out in disbelief at what he was witnessing.

But that wasn’t all! During an interview with Ariel Helwani at the event, McGregor stated, “It’ll be 2025” about his long-awaited return. While he didn’t confirm a date or an opponent, he indicated, “And, you know, one thing is for sure, when the whenever it is and and wherever it is, I will be 100% ready. And that that’s that’s all I can focus on right now.”

Have an interesting take?

So, will we get any more news about his UFC return anytime soon? For now, all the MMA sphere can do is wait. But in the meanwhile, Merab Dvalishvili made a heart-warming post to thank the UFC as he now reigns atop the bantamweight division.

Merab Dvalishvili makes a heartfelt post thanking the UFC, Dana White and more

Can you imagine chasing a goal for over a decade, pushing through setbacks and obstacles, only to finally achieve it? That’s the reality for Dvalishvili, who recently took to social media to share his feelings after becoming UFC champion at UFC 306.

Dominating Sean O’Malley for all 5-rounds of their fight, the Georgian walked out of ‘The Sphere’ a champion with the UFC belt around his waist. In a recent post shared on his Instagram account, he shared, “I want to thank Dana White because if he didn’t find me that amazing night at Ring of Combat, I might not have been a part of @ufc and would have continued my path in another organization.”

Highlighting his struggle of 14 years, Dvalishvili also extended his gratitude to, “…Hunter Campbell for all the work he does and thanks to match makers Sean Shelby and Mick Maynard. Also to the UFC staff for their tireless physical work.”

With the top of the UFC mountain now firmly under his feet after over a decade of blood, sweat, and tears, the question remains: How will Merab Dvalishvili’s reign unfold? Umar Nurmagomedov is waiting in the wings for his shot at the title and so is Deiveson Figueiredo. But while we wait for more news on that front, another member of ‘Team Khabib’ is taking the next steps towards super-stardom!
