Conor McGregor and Israel Adesanya both had tough luck in their respective last few outings. Israel Adesanya is on a two-fight losing streak while on the other hand, Conor McGregor has yet to step inside the Octagon since his last defeat against Dustin Poirier back in 2021. So, when are they going to step back inside the Octagon again?

According to former middleweight champion Israel Adesanya, he now wants to fight purely for the love of fighting, without focusing on the belt. After his last defeat against Dricus Du Plessis back in UFC 304, Adesanya has become a bit humble. While having a conversation on ‘The Adam Carolla Show,’ ‘Stylebender’ revealed, “Right now, after I just fought him, I don’t think it’s going to be immediately. I’d rather just fight, not really for the belt, just fight for fighting’s sake. … Even though I don’t have the belt, they still have got my name in their mouth.”

He further added, “I’m still Israel Adesanya. For me, I’ll let them call me out or whatever. At the moment, I want to fight one more time before the end of this year or early next year. I don’t know yet.” Adesanya has not competed in a non-title fight since his victory against Anderson Silva back in UFC 234, so it might be a interesting to see contender ‘Izzy’ again.

Now that we have seen what the veterans are up to, let us move on to the new guard of fighters introduced by the promotion.

UFC adds five new fighters from Dana White’s Contender Series

The eighth week of the current season of Dana White’s Contender Series saw five fighters who are going to fight under the UFC banner. Starting off, it’s Diyar Nurgozhay, who knocked out his opponent Bartosz Szewczyk with a head kick and punches in the second round. Then it was Alberto Montes’s turn, who submitted his opponent Carlos Calderon in the second round by way of an anaconda choke.

The third person who clinched a UFC contract is David Martinez, who won a unanimous decision over Xavier Franklin. The stars who got the appreciation, as well as a contract from the promotion, are Torrez Finney and Jacobe Smith. The promotion as well as the fans have some high hopes from them especially from Jacobe Smith, who not only got the appreciation of Dana White but Daniel Cormier as well.

Now that we know about the contract winners from this week let us move on forward to Michael Bisping, who has a prediction for this weekend’s UFC 307.

Michael Bisping predicts his winner for UFC 307 headliner

Al͏ex ͏Pe͏reira i͏s set͏ ͏to defend his light hea͏vy͏weig͏ht ti͏tle f͏or the third ti͏me t͏hi͏s year ͏against Khalil Roun͏tree J͏r. The event in ͏Salt Lak͏e City will͏ be head͏lined ͏by two ͏high-profile strikers, both kn͏own͏ for their bru͏tal fighting styles. In a year, where every champion is getting their title snatched, the MMA community is excited to witness the clash between two knockout artists, but who has the upper hand? According to former middleweight champ, Michael Bisping, Alex Pereira would be the ultimate winner in their clash.

While having a conversation on his YouTube channel, Bisping confessed that despite Rountree’s skills, Alex Pereira would be the winner in Salt Lake City, “While Khalil is a tremendous fighter and he deserves this spot, and I think he’s going to do himself proud, I don’t think he’s going to put Pereira to sleep. The only man that might go down will be Rountree Jr. I think at some point he’s going to land a good shot, whether it’s a straight right, a left hook, or a head kick.”

He further broke down what was going to happen at the match, “Those are the dangerous shots. Those big shots will be set up by the calf kicks. He’s going to butcher the calves of Khalil Rountree Jr., that is going to be the plan, and when he’s thinking about that, when his man is preoccupied with the leg kicks, then Pereira comes straight down the middle with the right hand. When Khalil fought Anthony Smith, he was successful in landing the right hand. If Smith can land that right hand, then bet your bottom dollar that Pereira can land it, and as we know, that’s not his best shot.”

Michael Bisping believes that getting past ‘Poatan’ would be extremely difficult for Khalil Rountree Jr. but we must not forget that the Las Vegas Nevada native will come in with everything considering the fact that he has nothing to lose. What’s your take on the fight?
