Chris Weidman gets called out by Bruno Silva

After an underwhelming return to the Octagon after two years at UFC 292, former middleweight champion Chris Weidman scored his first win in over four years against Bruno Silva at UFC Atlantic City. He edged past his Brazilian counterpart with a unanimous decision, but his opponent was not happy about it. Silva recently had an interview with ‘MMA Fighting‘, where he called out the former champion for illegal eye pokes during the fight. He even expressed his disappointment with the referee for not spotting the incident on more than one occasion.

“The referee was bizarre. He f***ed up, and then f***ed up on top of that. The least they could do is a no-contest. No way. He put his finger inside my eye,” said Bruno Silva. As a result of the eye pokes, he is planning to appeal to New Jersey’s commission. “Let’s see what the UFC does. I just want things done the right way, the fair way. I went there and fought and you didn’t see any malice from my part,” Silva added.

Meanwhile, Chris Weidman has placed the blame on ‘Blindado’ for the eye poke. It remains to be seen how the commission will react to the appeal.

Joe Rogan references Dana White’s mistaken identity incident

Dana White Recently appeared in an interview on American anchor Sage Steele‘s new show, ‘Sage Steele Podcast‘. The host of the show did not seem to have a clue about the identity of the person she was interviewing and ended up calling the UFC CEO Joe Rogan. Steele came to realize that her guest was not Joe Rogan after more than an hour of talking to the 54-year-old. Rogan did not take much time to react and shared the video of that instance from the show. Meanwhile, the JRE host decided to take a light-hearted jab at White’s embarrassing moment on social media.

However, he one-upped himself after putting a picture of Dana White, referencing the recent Sage Steele incident. The fans certainly had a good laugh in the comments section, but we will have to see how the UFC CEO reacts to this post.

Undefeated Manon Fiorot put on a dominant display against Erin Blachfield, keeping her winning streak intact and handing the latter her first UFC defeat. The Frenchwoman won the fight via decision after a five-round battle. Nevertheless, Blanchfield also had her moments in the UFC Atlantic City headliner. In one instance from the fight, the 24-year-old had her opponent locked in a guillotine choke, and the anticipation grew as many people felt that could spell the end for Fiorot, but that did not happen.

A video clip from that fight has gained a lot of steam on social media. It appears that Manon Fiorot tapped out to the guillotine choke when she attempted to roll out of that submission move. But that may not be true, and we will have to wait and see if the UFC considers this discovery in the days to come.
