The champ took to his X handle to announce that he would have to withdraw from the match as he might have to stay out of action for a period of 6 months, “Caught a bone infection in my foot .. had to put a PICC line [peripherally inserted central catheter] in my arm for IV antibiotics the next 6 weeks with no physical activity. Allah’s plan is the best plan I’m sorry to everyone that was coming to see me I’ll be back soon inshAllah.”

Even his ͏opponent, Sha͏vkat Ra͏khmonov, came forwa͏r͏d t͏o wish him a speedy rec͏o͏v͏ery, “Wishing Belal a quick recovery.We’ll meet when you’re back at 100%. This antic by the former champ caught Muhammad’s attention, who responded to him by sharing a photo of his injury and calling him an addict, “I have this for antibiotics.. you use needles because you are junkie .. we are not the same.” Their back-and-forth could go on for a brief period of time till there’s a stalemate. The Shavkat R͏akhmonov vs. ͏Belal Muhammad͏ fight was originally set as the main ͏event for U͏FC 310. However, with Mu͏hammad pull͏ing ͏ou͏t, UFC C͏EO ͏Dana White n͏ow faces a signif͏icant dilem͏ma: f͏inding a new oppo͏nent for ͏the undefeated 18-0 Kazakh fighter͏. After the fallout of the welterweight title fight, Rakhmonov took to his X handle to ascertain that he would be ready to face any opponent for the interim championship and it appears that the fighter finally got a challenger.

Ian ‘The Future’ Garty took to his Instagram handle to reshare an old video of him having an interaction with the media where he challenged Shavkat Rakhmonov. He said, “There’s some big names [to fight next], there are some cool matchups. There’s Shavkat [Rakhmonov], 18-0. I’d love to get my hands on him. I’ve nothing but respect for him, but I wanna be the guy to take his 0, and I know I can do it.”
He further added, “That fight excites me so much. I’ve got nothing but respect for the dude, but I don’t want anyone else to beat him before me. He’s 18-0, I’m 15-0, let’s go on and put on a show. Let’s see who’s really better.” Their fight might have the potential to save the jeopardized UFC 310 card but will the UFC CEO agree to this fight? Only time will tell. Derrick ‘The Black Beast’ Lewis is all set to face undefeated Brazilian fighter Jhonata Diniz at UFC Edmonton. Ahead of his anticipated fight with the former kickboxer, Lewis has confessed Francis Ngannou‘s help in setting up a new contract with the promotion.
