Last Friday, Conor McGregor was charged by the civil court for the sexual assault case against Nikita Hand. After being charged by the courts, McGregor’s own alcoholic brand, ‘Proper 12 whiskey’, which he sold to Proximo Spirits, decided to sever all ties they had with the former champ. In addition to that, IO Interactive, developer of the Hitman franchise, emphasized that they would remove Conor McGregor’s name from every ‘Hitman series’ game they have. The brand has already seized sales on DLC featuring McGregor.
“In light of the recent court ruling regarding Conor McGregor, IO Interactive has made the decision to cease its collaboration with the athlete, effective immediately…Consequently, we will begin removing all content featuring Mr. McGregor from our storefronts starting today,” the studio stated on social media on November 24.
After witnessing such downfalls, Daniel Cormier has come forward to emphasize that this case might have long-term effects on the Dubliner.
While having a conversation on his YouTube handle, the former light-heavyweight and heavyweight champion stated that Conor McGregor might find it very difficult to remove the dark spot from history, “It’s unfortunate because this is one of the biggest stars that this sport has ever seen. We’ve never seen anything like a Conor McGregor in mixed martial arts.”
“For a guy of that stature to come from our sport and be tied to something as bad as this, it really does suck. There are going to be some long-term effects from this.”
“When I hear things like this, sometimes (celebrities) are targeted – especially guys that carry that type of cache, that type of name recognition. But with Conor, it seems like there has been more than one instance where stuff like this has come up. Like I said, I am not judging this man. I don’t know…I wasn’t there. You know who knows? Conor and that girl. But, this isn’t the first time that we have seen something like that so, you’re a little less inclined to be, ‘Oh, this is a gold digger that’s trying to do this.’ But do know that as long as there have been sports, there have been instances like this.”
The current UFC Lightweight Champion, Islam Makhachev, has also weighed in on the situation, and the one thing we can tell you is he didn’t mince his words. Sharing a tweet from ESPN reporting McGregor’s verdict, the Russian MMA fighter wrote on November 22: “It was a matter of time till this filthy bastard be exposed. Alcoholic, drug junkie + r***st. Many more facts to come out, trust me!”
Regardless, McGregor will be moving to higher courts for justice while we move on forward to a Jon Jones vs. Francis Ngannou news.
UFC vs. PFL might happen sooner than expected
What’s the most intriguing MMA clash that is on everyone’s wishlist? It’s the clash between Jon Jones and Francis Ngannou. The current UFC heavyweight champion and the former UFC heavyweight champion were supposed to clash with each other when Ngannou was within the organization, but due to failed contractual negotiations, ‘Predator’ had to resign from UFC and join PFL. This broke the hearts of many fans who wanted to witness a clash between the heavyweight giant and the MMA GOAT. But don’t give up hopes just yet, as years after the fiasco, their clash might happen and Saudi Money can make the magic.
Both PFL’s and UFC’s CEO are very close with the Saudi regime, which has been trying its best to promote sports within as well as across the globe and as fans demand a clash between Jones and Ngannou, Riyadh Season might make it happen. In a conversation with ‘TalkSport’ PFL CEO Peter Murray emphasized that Saudi Arabia wants to host a potential fight between Jones and Ngannou in the future, “We’re supportive of a [crossover fight],” Murray said.
He further added, “I mean, the fighters want the fight, Jon Jones wants the fight, Francis wants the fight, we want the fight, our partners here in Saudi want the fight. It really comes down to if UFC wants to step up … period.” Everything appears to be fine from the PFL side but what about UFC?
Well, Dana White has time and time again stated that he would not work with Francis Ngannou ever again but he might not be able to say no to the Saudi regime. Regardless, we might witness a super-fight between the two of the biggest heavyweight athletes on the face of the earth soon. But before that, let us move on to a fight that is definitely happening and sooner—UFC 310 headliner Kai Asakura has something to say about Alexandre Pantoja.
Kai Asakura makes some bold statements ahead of Alexandre Pantoja fight
Former bantamweight champion of Rizin, Kai Asakura will be making a surprise debut in the main event of UFC 310 on December 7, as he is scheduled to fight the flyweight champion of UFC, Alexandre Pantoja. His maiden UFC outing will be against the reigning champion, who has already cleared out his division. Looking at this, Kai Asakura believes that his win at UFC 310 might be beneficial for the promotion, considering the fact that Pantoja’s dominance has halted the division’s progression.
While having a conversation with MMA Junkie through an interpreter, Asakura asserted, “Let’s be honest: It’s good business for the UFC if I win. I’m here to make it exciting, for people to have interest in the flyweight division and have a whole bunch of new matchups ready to have on future shows.” The former Rizin bantamweight champ and his unique style might bring in pay-per-views to the flyweight division, “I’m a little bit different than the other fighters in the flyweight division….”
He further added, “I have the ability to capitalize on one of his misses and put him to sleep,” Asakura said. “That’s what I’m aiming for, and I think that’s what makes my challenge for this title fight different than anyone else.” The Japanese star has a record of 21 victories and 4 defeats and is riding on a two-fight winning streak. His confidence is his key, as he has knocked out most of his opponents. Their fight might be interesting considering that he will be going up against one of the best talents outside of Brazil. While we wait for their showdown next weekend, let us look at Chael Sonnen, who has some unique revelations to make.

Chael Sonnen reveals WWE refused to purchase UFC when they had the chance
UFC and WWE might be under the same banner (TKO) now but there was a time when WWE’s head honcho, Vince McMahon had the chance to buy the promotion from Dana White and Lorenzo Fertitta but he refused to put any money within the organization. While having a conversation with his audience on his YouTube handle, Chael Sonnen emphasized that Vince McMahon missed a train of gold when he refused to put in money for UFC.
“Dana White made a brand promise way back in 2001, and Dana would not come off his promise: over here the best fight the best. Vince McMahon was interested in purchasing the UFC and Vince was at the table, escrow money in hand, his son Shane is shoving him and wants to do it. Vince comes in and says no and offers the reason why. You can not build a star if you can not control the outcome,” said Sonnen on his YouTube handle.
