The noted voice of Joe Rogan definitely adds an enthralling factor to the UFC events. Rogan’s descriptive commentary, specifying the moves performed in a fight, often helps the fans with some knowledge about the sport.
The UFC has selected Rio Di Janeiro, Brazil, as the venue for their 283rd pay-per-view event. But, as Rogan’s fans know, he works in various other fields and is a podcaster, a seasoned comedian, and a former TV host as well. His busy schedule restricts him from taking long enough breaks and visiting international venues to commentate UFC events. A lot of fans are definitely going to miss his presence at UFC 283 in Brazil.
While the UFC has appointed former lightweight fighter and commentator, Paul Felder, still some would’ve loved to see Rogan on the mic even more.
Stipe Miocic was dismayed by the UFC snubbing him as a contender for Jon Jones
The noted UFC heavyweight and former champion Stipe Miocic expressed his discontent about the Jon Jones vs Ciryl Gane matchup. Miocic was disappointed since the UFC didn’t even consider his name as a contender to face the returning, Jon ‘Bones’ Jones. He appeared as an online guest on Ariel Helwani’s noted podcast, ‘The MMA Hour’ and expressed his dismay about the UFC’s decision of selecting Ciryl Gane as ‘Bones’s’ opponent at UFC 285.
‘The Silencer’ stated, “They went with Ciryl,” with a bit of discontent in his tone. However, Miocic also revealed that the UFC had asked him for a fight in July this year against the winner of the UFC 285 Gane vs Jones bout. “I’m not a matchmaker, I can’t tell you [why]. I don’t know. [The UFC] just went a different direction, so they said maybe July,” he added.
A lot of fans might agree that a Miocic vs Jones main event for the UFC 285 would have been an equally enthralling one.
Demetrious Johnson goes vocal about his exact fight purses received from the UFC
Following the UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou’s exit owing to contract disputes, former UFC flyweight Champion Demetrious Johnson also opened up on his experiences of the same fate. ‘Mighty Mouse’ stated how his initial UFC contract paid him “$14,000 to show and $14,000 to win”. After a few fights, ‘DJ’ revealed that the UFC paid him, “($20,000) and ($20,000)”.

Still ‘DJ’ expressed his discontent. “But I couldn’t get pay-per-view points – and that’s where a champion makes most of their bang for their buck, is the pay-per-view points,” said DJ, in one of his recent Twitch streams, as per a video posted on Twitter by Chungus Supreme.
Today, every fighter receives a portion of the revenues generated by their pay-per-view sales. Johnson’s discontent may be viewed as justified in this regard.
