According to them, there were a lot more deserving contenders who should have received it instead of Covington. However, ‘Chaos’ wasn’t ready to lose out on this title shot at any cost.

Recently, Covington appeared as a guest on the podcast ‘Submission Radio’ and touched on various points regarding his Welterweight title shot. He also revealed the negotiations he had with the UFC authorities if Leon Edwards refuses to take him on for his next title defense. He stated, “If Leon doesn’t wanna fight, I have already been assured that it’s just okay. They will strip him and I’m next in line.”

UFC unveiled the main card for the upcoming UFC 288

After a series of enthralling events this year, the UFC has even more for the fans. Lately, the UFC authorities revealed the fights to be featured in the main card of the upcoming UFC 288.

The event is all set to be headlined by a touted Bantamweight bout, where the current champion, Aljamain Sterling, will take on the returning former UFC champ-champ, Henry Cejudo. The co-main event of the night may also be expected to be an enthraller featuring the former Lightweight kingpin, Charles Oliveira, taking on the currently dominating Beneil Dariush.
