A lot of UFC fans had been waiting to watch scheduled fighters take the Octagon at the UFC Vegas 70. But, it must have been disappointing for them to know about the cancelation of the main event of the night. The main eventer Nikita Krylov had to pull out of the bout after the weigh-ins due to a reported illness. The other bouts of the night presented fans with quite a few exciting moments.

In the newly promoted main event, UFC Middleweight Brendan Allen got the better of his opponent, Andre Muniz. Allen showcased his superior striking abilities in the initial rounds. Despite some resistance from Muniz, Allen managed to take the fight to the ground in the third round. Muniz who initially displayed resistance, later fell prey to Allen’s rear-naked choke, handing him a defeat.

Dana White reveals thoughts on the coveted Makhachev vs Volkanovski rematch

The UFC supremo, Dana White, appeared at the UFC Vegas 70 post-event press conference and answered a volley of questions thrown at him. Among these, there was also a question about a rematch between the UFC Lightweight kingpin, Islam Makhachev, and the UFC Featherweight champ, Alexander Volkanovski.

Previously, a lot of MMA pundits and fans had voiced their opinions in support of a rematch after witnessing the stunning performance of ‘The Great’ against the Dagestani icon at UFC 284.

White also echoed the same thoughts in his post-UFC Vegas 70 press conference. He presented his opinion, stating that a rematch between Makhachev and ‘Volk’ is definitely a fixture that the UFC has been looking forward to.

But, he also was in favor of both the champions returning to their respective weight classes, going for a title defense each, and then getting back to the champ-champ rematch. However, looking at the volatility of the MMA scene, the UFC boss didn’t give out any firm statement about any future fixtures.

Conor McGregor traveled down memory lane to his Madison Square Garden triumph

The majority of fans know that the UFC icon Conor McGregor also boasts Twitter fingers apart from his signature left-hand strikes. ‘The Notorious’ has been using Elon Musk’s platform to express himself for quite some time now. Recently, he took to his Twitter handle once more and put out an old video as a tweet.

McGregor’s post showcased a brief instance from his Lightweight title bout against the noted, Eddie Alvarez. ‘Mystic Mac’ showcased some lucid foot movement and landed a powerful left on ‘The Underground King’, causing him to retreat. A lot of fans might remember the dominance showcased by McGregor during the entire span of this matchup.

This tweet from McGregor might be a reminder for his probable next opponent, ‘Iron’ Michael Chandler, who had often called the Madison Square Garden his home.
