UFC has signed one of the biggest MMA names outside of their organisation. A few days ago, UFC CEO Dana White announced the arrival of Michael ‘Venom’ Page! The former Bellator fighter will face Kevin Holland at UFC 299. Known as one of the most thrilling MMA fighters of all time, ‘Venom’ was on UFC’s watchlist for a long time.

Some months ago, he even appeared on UFC’s official website’s roster section. But it wasn’t until very recently that his debut was officially announced. Now, the MMA star has revealed an uncanny tactic that he used to get his UFC contract finalized!

PFL Europe Championships took place in Dublin, Ireland, a few weeks ago. At the exciting event, fans witnessed an unexpected face-off between two exceptional MMA fighters. The then-free agent Page faced off with Cedric Doumbe. “MVP! Whenever you want, I’m here for you!” Doumbe stated.

This led many fans to believe that the MMA veteran was going to sign with PFL. However, in a turn of events, he ended up entering Dana White’s kingdom. Moreover, in a recent interview, ‘Venom’ revealed how that face-off helped him secure a deal with the UFC.

“That kind of kicked off another thing. So everyone was like ‘Oh you know, Dana had fumbled it and this and that’”. Did this move lead to the UFC finalizing the deal with Page quicker? He answered.

“I would 100% say yes. There was a little bit of a low even for me (prior to the faceoff). It was getting to the point where even for me, it was like, ‘Come on’! This definitely kind of kicked everybody into gear both from the UFC both from PFL,” he added. Now, Michael ‘Venom’ Page is all set to fight Kevin Holland on March 9th.

Michael ‘Venom’ Page – the biggest name in MMA?

In the wild world of MMA, every fighter wants to claim the status of being the ‘best’. Page did the same in a recent interview. “I am the biggest name in the game,” he said. Further, the American MMA fighter also stated that he would keep the same attitude and personality coming into the UFC.

“I cannot be any other way, I think. If I try to, it’s, you know, when people used to turn me back,” he said. “If I tried to do anything else, I wouldn’t win fights. You wouldn’t know who I am,” ‘Venom’ added.
