With the UFC ending 2023 on a high, the promotion recently announced that UFC 300 will be taking place on April 13, 2024, at the T-Mobile Arena. Meanwhile, Michael Chandler spoke about the possibility of his fight against Conor McGregor taking place in that event, claiming that ‘The Notorious’ may not be able to avoid him for too long.
The fight between Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler was announced in March of this year. They were the coaches of the opposing teams on ‘The Ultimate Fighter 31’. However, McGregor’s exclusion from the USADA’s testing pool halted those plans. Since then, there has been no official confirmation as to when the former double champion will come back or if he will fight Chandler when he returns. Let’s see what ‘Iron’ had to say about that.

‘The Schmo‘ recently caught up with Michael Chandler, who was promoting the ‘Hiatus Tequila’ alcoholic beverage, which is a brand he has invested in. The Schmo asked the 5th-ranked lightweight fighter about his thoughts on the fight against Conor McGregor, possibly taking place at UFC 300. It seems like Chandler is eager for that to happen at the UFC’s triple-century pay-per-view event. He said, “You and me have been thinking about this, waiting for it and the entire world is waiting for it for a very long time. Hopefully, that’s what gets announced.”
However, Michael Chandler has no information or confirmation of that fight taking place at UFC 300. But he expressed his interest in being a part of that monumental event and possibly locking horns with Conor McGregor. “We will see. I don’t have any inside information, no breaking news for you, but that was obviously what I would love, UFC 300 in April,” Chandler added. In addition to that, ‘Iron’ also shared a reminder that ‘The Notorious’ has to fight him on his return and plans to ruin his comeback. Let’s take a look at that front.
Chandler is looking forward to ruining McGregor’s UFC return plans
Although Michael Chandler has not competed inside the Octagon since UFC 281, the 37-year-old is having a great time in his other ventures. He claims that he is enjoying spending time on his business ventures and living a comfortable life with his family. However, Chandler is eager to fight and believes that Conor McGregor cannot keep him waiting for too long. He further stated, “Business is great outside of the Octagon, family is great outside of the Octagon, my cup is full, so to speak. I am in a great spot and whenever this fight happens, he [McGregor] can’t wait me out.”
