Intense scenes at UFC Vegas 88 have surfaced. The co-main event was a wild ride that ended in a no-contest after the second round. So what went wrong? The fight between Bryan Battle and Ange Loosa seemingly went on way after it was declared over.

During the first round, Battle was rather dominant. However, it was in the second round that the referee had to call in the doctor, all thanks to an accidental eye-poke from Battle’s end that was caught by the ref. Loosa tried to recover but it was all in vain and when he finally did, he was not happy.

Ange Loosa tried to put a cloth over his injured eye in hopes of allowing it to recover. However, the doctor was already examining him. In the final moments of the fight, Loosa admitted that he could not see out of that eye and it was all that the doctor needed.

The fight was stopped and after things had been accounted for, Michael Bisping stepped inside the cage in hopes of interviewing the fighters but his efforts would see no fruit as an enraged Loosa would confront Bryan Battle about the eye poke and the two had to be separated before they took the fight to its unofficial round 3. What are your thoughts on this one?

Eye-pokes are certainly dangerous but things could happen in a cage match where strikes are being thrown left right and center. It’s also rather natural for fighters to lose their calm over a match that could have had a decisive result instead of a no-contest.

Loosa received some flak from fans who claimed that he could see once the fight was over. Perhaps he just took that long to recover. Nothing can be said about it at this moment. However, that wasn’t the only thing that upset fans at UFC Vegas 88.

Tai Tuivasa has been a mainstay in the UFC’s heavyweight division for some time now. However, the last time he won a fight was when he took down Derrick Lewis at UFC 271 via KO/TKO back in 2022. That was now, four fights ago.
