Jon Jones is without a doubt one of the biggest stars the UFC has at the moment. He’s a living legend, a man who has conquered the Octagon time and time again. But right now, he’s making headlines for something unexpected: his demands outside of the cage. Rumor has it, that Jones won’t fight again unless the UFC agrees to pay him $30 million. Joe Rogan, who has always been a fan of the champion feels the promotion might just agree to his claims. During his #2249 episode of the JRE podcast, Rogan said, “The UFC is going to pay it, hopefully. I hope they pay.”

Jones at 37-year-old is definitely at the twilight of his career and the JRE host feels that this fight will help his legacy. Joe Rogan isn’t the only one in the UFC who believes the champion needs to fight with Aspinall. Former middleweight champion and UFC analyst Michael Bisping also thinks Jones deserves the payout. The current heavyweight champion has been an integral part of the UFC since 2008. He captured the light-heavyweight title in 2011 and has held onto championship gold ever since. ‘The Count’ during his podcast on YouTube shared the details of the clash.
He said, “The greatest fighter of all time – talking about Jonny Bones Jones – is more than likely going to fight Tom Aspinall. And more than likely, going to be paid around $30 million. That is what Joe Rogan was talking about on his podcast. And as we know Jon Jones that kind of shied away from fighting Tom Aspinall leading up to the Stipe fight. Which was an absolutely stroke of genius in terms of marketing because it drove the demand through the roof – Sky high. Made the fire that everybody wants to see. Well, guess what? The man is gonna get paid properly more than likely. That’s the rumor.”

Regarded as the ‘GOAT’ of MMA, Jon Jones solidified his legacy at UFC 309 by defending his heavyweight title against Stipe Miocic. Now Tom Aspinall has positioned himself as a legitimate challenger, and Jones is asking the UFC for what he calls “f–k you money” to make the fight happen. But what does the ‘Honey Badger’ feel about Jones’s fight? Let us take a look at it below.
Tom Aspinall is confident that the fight with Jon Jones is on the cards
When you look at Jon Jones’ record, the $30 million request doesn’t seem all that outrageous. Since making his debut in the UFC, the heavyweight champion has been a dominant force in MMA. With 28 wins and just one loss (a DQ against Matt Hamill), ‘Bones’ is arguably the most dangerous fighter in the promotion’s history. As Jones hints at retirement from the sport, UFC CEO Dana White may soon have to take his demands seriously. On the other hand, Tom Aspinall is eager to claim the UFC heavyweight title and put an end to his frustration over Jon Jones’ inactivity.
Aspinall has held the interim title for over a year and made history by becoming one of the few fighters to successfully defend it. The logical next step is a title unification fight, but Jones’ financial demands remain a major obstacle. Despite this, Aspinall has worked to ease concerns and keep momentum building toward the potential showdown.
While speaking to Piers Morgan on his YouTube show Uncensored he said, “I was literally waiting outside that room. I hadn’t seen any of the stuff he had said. Honestly, I was expecting him to come in and maybe negotiate a little. But he walked in and said, ‘It’s happening.’ I replied, ‘Well, he’s going to want loads of money.’ Dana said, ‘I know, but it’s happening’.”
Do you think the highly anticipated fight between the two happen in 2025? Will Jon Jones be paid $30 Million for his next fight? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
