However, fans witnessed his emotional side in the latest podcast with Theo Von. While speaking to Von about his rough childhood, ‘Tarzan’ got teary-eyed.
Fans on Instagram have appreciated him for talking about his rough childhood. Per his revelations, ‘Tarzan’ has never had a friendly relationship with his father and has been vocal about it in the past. However, this time round, Strickland got emotional while speaking about it.

Sean Strickland looks back at crying on Theo Von’s podcast
Sean Strickland had recently shot an episode on Theo Von’s podcast and reports of the UFC star breaking down on the show started popping up on the internet. True to his character, he owned up to his vulnerability and thanked Von for offering to delete the sensitive parts of the chat.
Now that the episode is finally out, Strickland took to his Instagram story and wrote: ‘ ‘Thanks man…Just kinda snuck up me…. Mentally wasn’t prepared for it lol’. People have appreciated the champ for coming out and speaking on a sensitive topic like this. Strickland can capture the audience with his speaking skills and this time around, he surprised the fans with his emotional side.
Sean Strickland rose to the top and became the middleweight champion after defeating Israel Adesanya at UFC 293 in September 2023. In addition to his newfound stardom, his dark past also received its fair share of limelight as Strickland began to get more vocal about it. His appearance on the Joe Rogan Experience and accounts from his coach Eric Nicksick painted a different picture of the outspoken American.

The current champion has had a rough upbringing and has never shied away from it. Recently, his upcoming opponent Dricus Du Plessis even mocked him in a press conference and mentioned how his father used to beat him up. This visibly upset the champion. Du Plessis currently boasts a record of 20-2-0 in the UFC and is in the form of his life. Both the fighters have already set the bar high after their recent brawl at UFC 296.
