However, his tone was different this time. Strickland in his statement asserted that he was on the verge of breaking down at the podcast.

Dricus Du Plessis’s comments seem to have taken a toll on the champion. Sean Strickland seldom shows any emotions but the press conference might have broken the inner child inside of him. Strickland had a very rough childhood with an abusive father who would hurt both Strickland and his mother. The advent of MMA in his life was a breakthrough for him to get away from the abuse.

The middleweight champ recently interacted with influencer and YouTuber Theo Von on his podcast. Strickland took to X (Formerly Twitter) to share the news that he wrapped up recording a podcast episode with comedian Theo Von for the upcoming edition of ‘This Past Weekend with Theo Von. He further added a tweet that took the fans by surprise.

In his tweet, Sean Strickland acknowledged that the interview was not his ‘finest moment,’ revealing that the conversation led the fighter to break down in tears. As he continued to share thoughts about the interview, Strickland added to the intrigue by stating that he ‘almost bit a hole’ through his lip while attempting to hold back his emotions.

Strickland’s confession left the fans confused because he seldom shares anything about his emotional status.
