The UFC 287 main event between Israel Adesanya and Alex Pereira was a fight for the ages. The record-setting Miami PPV saw Adesanya knock out his archrival in spectacular fashion to reclaim the UFC middleweight title. However, according to a recent revelation from ‘The Last Stylebender,’ there was an injury that almost forced him to pull out of the grudge match.

Israel Adesanya beat Alex Pereira for the first time in his career at UFC 287. The pair had met three times before in their careers and the Brazilian won all of them. Hence, many expected Adesanya to have an uphill battle against the weight of those losses while facing ‘Poatan’ a fourth time.

While ‘Izzy’ showed no lack of confidence, there was something that bothered him, perhaps even more than the three losses to Pereira. In the first episode of ‘Rumble Young Man Rumble’ uploaded to his YouTube channel, Adesanya and his brother analyzed the Pereira rivalry and the buildup to UFC 287.
