UFC star Max Holloway heard a few behind-the-scenes “stuff” that delayed and plagued the fight between Nate Diaz and Jake Paul. After a long period of limbo and uncertainty, the super fight finally received an August timeline. While veterans such as Chael Sonnen have sounded off the early announcement, others tried to unearth the reason behind the delay to realize the fight. The Hawaiian fighter believes he has the answer, and the Stockton Slapper might have to share the blame.

The showdown between Diaz and Paul recently stirred some headlines when it received the official confirmation. Notably, the fight marks Diaz’s transition to boxing after fulfilling his contractual obligations with the UFC. In addition, ‘The Problem Child’ who recently got his unblemished boxing record shattered, endeavors adding another UFC veteran to the list of his victims. However, the Stockton native made sure he explored all options for the betterment of his camp before signing the papers.

‘Blessed’, in the post-event press conference, informed the reporters the behind-the-scenes developments reached his ears. Further, he disclosed Diaz campaigned and made sure his “boys” get paid, too. For this reason, the featherweight fighter lauded Diaz.

He said, “You know, I heard a few behind-the-scenes stuff about Nate and why that fight took so long to come in. He’s trying to get all his boys paid, too. So Nate is that dude, bro. He is that guy.”

Earlier, when asked about his pick for the bout, Holloway admitted his “love” for the “OG Nate”.

The 31-year-old, who halted Arnold Allen’s juggernaut on Saturday night, pointed out the advantages Diaz carried into the fight, despite trailing his opponent on the odds.

Hence, he stated, “You gotta ride with the OG Nate. With OG Nate man. I got nothing but love for Nate. And I think he does good. I think he does well, man.”

“And his reach and man, he can hit. He can crack bro. His arms is long and he can crack. So I’m excited for that one,” he added later on.

Nate Diaz and Jake Paul square off against each other on August 5 in Dallas, consisting of 8 rounds, and abiding by boxing rules.
