The 33-year-old does quite agree with it. In a recent interview with Kevin Iole, he shared his thoughts on the situation. For the unversed, Max Holloway has never been knocked out in his career. He is also believed to be having the strongest chin in the division. A sport as competitive as MMA, this particular record holds a special place. Holloway agreed to the fact that he was indeed in trouble in the fourth round and felt it could be called a ‘knockdown.’
Holloway explained what an official knockdown means if one goes by the book and stated, “I mean I got hit, and then I freaking touched the mat. And I guess in a knockdown whenever you get hit, your gloves will touch the ground after getting hit if you’re gloves touch the mat that’s considered a knockdown right? So by that saying yeah, you know I know they didn’t, they didn’t count it as one officially but.”
He then further iterated that he did go down but got up in a moment, “If you look at what a knockdown is he hit me and my gloves touched the ground. My butt touch the ground I got back up real fast but I mean it is what it is. ”
