Can Max Holloway bounce back after his first career knockout, or is this the beginning of the end?

One of the biggest clashes of the year was the featherweight scrap between Ilia Topuria and Max Holloway at UFC 308. The fight lived up to the hype, and both fighters put on a show for the fans. Before the bout, Topuria made it clear that he would be the first one to knock out Max Holloway in his career. The champion kept his promise and ended the fight in the third round with a brutal left hook.

Holloway, for the first time in his career, was knocked out and had no issues accepting his defeat. ‘Blessed’ took to his YouTube channel to point out what exactly happened that night.

After the fight, both fighters showed their appreciation towards each other and buried the hatchet by embracing in a stellar moment. However, in the end, it all came down to the power of Topuria, which knocked out the challenger. During the video, Holloway broke down his entire preparation and said, “It is what it is, and at the end of the day no excuses man. No excuses at all. You’re not going to get one excuse out of me. I felt good I felt great. Camp went great. Injury free. Cut went great. A lot of people thought I was up on the scorecard. Before that left hook from hell landed, you know… Everybody talks about how hard a puncher [Topuria] is, his punches didn’t feel different from anybody else I ever fought. He is just like anybody else in there, and he just landed something. Even the one that landed didn’t feel too crazy.”
