Matt Frevola knocked out Drew Dober in their lightweight matchup to close the show on the UFC 288 preliminary card. The bout lasted only one round but delivered as promised. Dober came into the fight with more momentum than his opponent. The 34-year-old had won three of his last fights and looked to improve his streak to four wins. He had beaten Terrance McKinney, Rafael Alves, and Bobby Green in 2022 on his way to UFC 288. Hence, this loss was a tough pill to swallow for the Colorado native.

While Frevola had more success initially, the commentators felt he should not have been swinging too much to land big shots.

While Dober occasionally had answers from Frevola’s onslaught, a perfectly placed shot in the very last minute put him down. Frevola followed Dober to the ground with a barrage of punches until referee Herb Dean had no choice but to step in and halt the proceedings.
