Conor McGregor may be out of the Octagon, but headlines keep chasing him like a relentless opponent on caffeine. Recently, the Irishman made it to the spotlight when he talked about fellow fighter Matt Brown. Brown claimed his recent victory over Court McGee at UFC on ABC 4 on May 13, 2023, where he tied Derrick Lewis for the most knockout wins in UFC history (13).
Soon, McGregor took to Twitter to express his intention to break that record. This ignited a war of words between the two fighters, which has been going on till now. Appearing in an interview with former UFC champion Michael Bisping, Brown made some bold remarks about the former double champ.

Brown didn’t hold back, expressing his desire for a lucrative bout with McGregor. With a net worth of around $200 million, it is evident that every fighter would want to fight McGregor. Moreover, McGregor famously referred to it as a “red panty night”, hinting at its financial benefits. However, Brown also didn’t mince his words when sharing his opinion of McGregor. He dismissed the Irish superstar as a “nobody” and referred to him as a “bum.”
“I’ll tell you like with Conor, I just want the red panty night. That’s all I give a f*ck about. I mean he’s a nobody to be honest in my opinion. I mean he was amazing and I give him all the props for everything he did. But at this point, he’s a bum.”
This recent exchange of words isn’t the first time Matt Brown has shared his thoughts on Conor McGregor‘s fighting future. In a previous appearance on MMAFighting’s The Fighter vs. The Writer show, Brown expressed doubt about McGregor‘s return to the Octagon.
Matt Brown thinks Conor McGregor will never return!
When asked about the Irishman’s return, Brown stated that McGregor‘s desire for the spotlight and the ego boost outweighed his motivation to compete. The UFC fighter even speculated that McGregor‘s fighting days may be behind him, given his financial success and the absence of a burning desire to fight.

“I just don’t think Conor’s actually coming back. I’m pretty well convinced he’s not even going to ever fight again. I think he just likes being in the spotlight and I think he likes people talking about him. He likes being heard, he likes the ego boost, all that kind of stuff. He’s got more money than I’ll probably ever make in my life, so good for him. But the chances of him actually coming back and fighting are pretty slim.”
