Alexander Volkov, the number five heavyweight contender, will soon return to action against an undefeated fighter in an event headliner.

UFC will soon be back in England after three years. The promotion will have its first event after three years in London on 19th March 2022. And it is stacking its card with some exciting bouts.

One of them is the heavyweight bout between Alexander Volkov and Tom Aspinall. This intriguing fight will serve as the main event at UFC Fight Night in Aspinall’s home country. However, the UFC is yet to make an official announcement about the fight.

Meanwhile, Brett Okamoto of ESPN posted the news on his official Twitter account. In the caption, he wrote, “UFC’s return to London on March 19 has a heavyweight main event, per Dana White. England’s Tom Aspinall vs. Alexander Volkov. Who you got?”

‘Drago’ bounced back into the win column last year in October after losing his two-fight win streak against the current title challenger Ciryl Gane by unanimous decision. On the other hand, the British heavyweight is an undefeated UFC fighter.

He is currently on a four-fight win streak and stands at number ten on the heavyweight roster. It is an important fight for both the combatants, as a win in this fight will secure their position in the title race. Here’s a brief overview of both the fighters’ runs in the promotion.

Tom Aspinall and Alexander Volkov: UFC Run

The Russian fighter Alexander ‘Drago’ Volkov is a veteran mixed martial artist. He has a professional record of 34-9 under his name. He has an amazing twenty-two knockout win and three submission wins on his MMA resume.

‘Drago’ made his UFC debut in 2016 and won four straight fights. However, he faced his first UFC loss against Derrick Lewis in 2018. Since that loss, he has lost only two out of his next six UFC bouts.

Meanwhile, the British fighter has a professional MMA record of 11-2, with nine knockouts and two submission wins under his name. He made his UFC debut in 2020 and has never lost a fight in the promotion.

All of his four wins have come via a finish, out of which three came via a knockout in the first round. Aspinall is a surging prospect and can be a tough challenge for Volkov. Interestingly, both fighters have a good striking game and hence it will be an exciting contest for the UFC fans.
