Joe Rogan, as we all know, is one of the biggest personalities in mass media at this time. And more than his successful stint in the UFC, or his career as a comedian, the star owes his recognition to his podcast. What started as a hobby in 2009, Joe Rogan’s podcast fetched mainstream recognition a few years later and turned out to become a $200+ million venture. But to what does Rogan credit all this success? Here’s what he had to say in a recent JRE episode featuring Shawn Ryan.
Shawn Ryan, a former Navy SEAL who trained Keanu Reeves for the ‘John Wick’ movie franchise made tremendous waves with his self-titled podcast. And even the longtime UFC color commentator applauded his work. The 57-year-old credited the reach Ryan had with his show to the platform where he posts his podcast videos, much like his own! “You do a great show and then the beautiful thing about social media, and YouTube and all these different things is that people could just share it,” Rogan stated on the #2207 episode.
The JRE host further stated, “I’ve had a few people. I think [it was] Billy Carson. Somebody sent me that one, and it’s just like someone would say, ‘Hey, you should check this out,'” while mentioning how people can let others know about certain content they enjoy on social media, and that’s the aspect of these platforms that he’s found quite beneficial. “That’s such a massive advantage of YouTube and Spotify and a lot of these apps.”

“I don’t read anything about myself. I very rarely post at all. And I if I do post, I certainly don’t read [what’s said about me],” Joe Rogan added. On the other hand, he also agreed to the fact that social media addiction is pretty real. But who are those people? Well, for Rogan, during this particular conversation, there are those people who just cannot get off from X (f.k.a.
