The UFC is booking fights thick and fast for its April events and has added a blockbuster bout to the April 30 event. The Fight Night card will see a brutal face-off in the main event.

Ranked bantamweight fighters Rob Font and Marlon Vera will take center stage in a bout that will have championship implications in the stacked 135 lbs division.

ESPN’s Brett Okamoto first reported the same and ‘Chito’ tweeted out, indicating that he can’t wait for his first main event fight.

The 29-year-old mixed martial artist will enter the cage on the back of two straight wins, including a ruthless knockout of Frankie Edgar at UFC 268.

His opponent, on the other hand, had a rough outing last time around. His four-fight win streak ended at the hands of former UFC champion Jose Aldo via unanimous decision.

However, Font could have an advantage as it will be his third consecutive headliner against a main event debutant in Marlon Vera.

How has Marlon Vera fared in the UFC?

The Ecuadorian, who is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu specialist, has had a rollercoaster ride at the UFC ever since his debut in 2014. Despite a loss in his first fight at UFC 180, Marlon ‘Chito’ Vera was a bright prospect for the promotion.

With a UFC record of 12 wins and 6 losses, the 29-year-old sits at #8 in the bantamweight division. In fact, the main event fight against veteran Rob Font might be the perfect opportunity for ‘Chito’ to rise even higher.

Vera has been the talk amongst the UFC brass and MMA fans across the globe for some of his fights. His recent win against Frankie Edgar was one such highlight. ‘Chito’ sent his opponent to the canvas in an instant with a thunderous front kick to the chin.
