Joe Rogan’s podcasting empire has grown so big that it’s almost unfathomable to see him drop down in the Spotify charts. However, just last year, he was dethroned off the top on more than one occasion. Former NFL star Jason Kelce‘s wife, Kylie Kelce, started her podcasting journey in 2024 and gave the UFC commentator a run for his money. However, there is no stopping the JRE host.

Joe Rogan has topped the podcasting charts this week again in 2025, all thanks to Mark Zuckerberg and a few other guests. Just when we thought that the JRE host might face a tough contest this year as well, his podcast episode with Mark Zuckerberg earned him a massive 6.3 million views on YouTube. However, the JRE host has been on a roll this week since he dropped three more podcast episodes featuring Wesley Huff, Mel Gibson, and Theo Von.

Von, whose podcast earned the sixth spot on Spotify’s top 10 list this week, helped the JRE host maintain his position at the top. The Shawn Ryan show took the second spot on the list.

The rest of the podcasts in the top five were The Mel Gibson Podcast, Anything Goes with Emma Chamberlain and The Telepathy Tapes. As for Kylie Kelce, her podcast that once dethroned Joe Rogan off the top is no longer on the top 10 list.

It was one of the most anticipated interviews after Mark Zuckerberg’s video announcing that Meta would relax the content moderation system of its social networks in the US. The millionaire founder of Facebook was the star guest on Joe Rogan’s podcast #2255, and he put on a show. Zuckerberg spoke about how he faced alleged pressure from the White House to increase censorship of content. The billionaire said that the original idea of the moderation system was to take out of circulation obvious hoaxes like that the earth is flat. However, after Trump’s first term, he claims that they began to face massive institutional pressure to censor content based on ideology.

While some of those people whose job it is to do fact-checking focused on fact-checking, many people thought that verifiers were too biased, not necessarily in what they solved, but because of the type of things they chose to verify. As a result, the company has announced a bold move to replace independent fact-checkers with a community-driven notes feature, similar to the approach used by X (formerly Twitter). Joe Rogan then chimed in, expressing his frustration with the mainstream media. He proceeded to call out Zuckerberg’s new direction.

He called out the tech mogul’s history of misleading the public by saying, “They’re just reporting on it… It’s a terrible format. The problem is, they get locked into that format, and no one trusts them. And then they leave, and I go, ‘Yeah, but you [Mark Zuckerberg] were just lying to us about this, that, and the other thing, and now I’m supposed to believe you’re one of the good guys. You’re one of the straight shooters now.” Well, it looks like Mark Zuckerberg will have to do some second-guessing regarding the move. But what do you think? Was getting rid of independent fact-checkers a bad idea? Let us know in the comments.
