Last year, the MMA world was abuzz with what would have been, according to Dana White, “the biggest fight ever in the history of the world”. However, it wasn’t between two MMA superstars. Or even two real fighters. Tech titans and billionaires, Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg, who were feuding on social media and going back and forth on social media, seemingly agreed to a cage fight to resolve their differences.

The bout, however, fell through and never materialized, to the disappointment of well, the entire world. However, Zuckerberg, who is a serious martial artist, just announced on his Instagram account that he is still determined to get back to training, and perhaps even a fight in the not-too-distant future, despite the Musk fight being called off, and suffering a serious injury.

Zuckerberg posted a video of him doing leg presses on his Instagram account, along with the following caption: “5 months post-surgery. Recovery is going well and starting to get strength back. Really looking forward to easing back into training over the coming months. Appreciate all the love and support 🙏”

Further, in a reply to a comment mentioning Musk, Zuckerberg took a shot at the Space X CEO, writing “I’ll compete with real fighters when I’m back.” While the California resident may be one of the richest people in the world and does not need to prove anything to anyone, he seems to have fallen in love with martial arts and has the competitive warrior spirit in him as he’s raring to get back to training and fighting despite the serious injury he suffered last year. But why exactly did the fight between the two billionaires not pan out?

Why was Zuckerberg vs. Musk called off?

Mark Zuckerberg started training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu a few years ago. Since then, the Facebook founder has worked his way up to a blue belt and even won a BJJ tournament at a California school not too long ago.

So, when an X user suggested to Elon Musk, in the midst of his feud with Zuckerberg, that they could end their beef in a fight, Musk (jokingly) agreed, writing “I’m up for a cage match if he is lol”. Zuckerberg, a veritable martial artist, agreed at once, quoting Khabib Nurmagomedov‘s famous line “send me location” in a social media post.

However, the bout fell through as Zuckerberg felt Musk wasn’t serious about their fight. Musk, on the other hand, blamed Zuckerberg for backing out. The Meta CEO injured his knee soon after and has been out of action since then. What do you make of Zuckerberg’s recent proclamation? Let us know in the comments section below.
