The Coleman family found themselves trapped in a burning house around 4 a.m. on a fateful night. The incident, unfortunately, left UFC legend Mark Coleman, in a medically induced coma. Coleman was woken up by his dog who then helped take his parents out of the burning building. The UFC figure would unfortunately end up in critical condition after trying to rescue his dog, Hammer.
Coleman often posted about his dog on his social media and showed his companionship with the Rottweiler. Though Coleman’s dog sprung the alarm about the fire inside the house, Hammer unfortunately met his end in the fire. The former UFC star took to his social media to talk about the prospect of losing his dog.

Mark Coleman in a recent video uploaded on his social media brought relief to his fans as he seemed to have been recovering well from the horrific incident. However, he did manage to pull the heartstrings of fight fans as he read a pre-written message for his dog and gave an update on how he passed away. In Coleman’s video, he updated the fans on Hammer’s passing by saying, “Me and my dog Hammer started our day every day together at 4 a.m. I tried so hard to get him out. I looked and reached [but] couldn’t find him. If I stayed one more second, I would’ve died. The only thing bringing me peace is that he did not burn. He was found under the bed with not a hair out of place.”

“The memories we made in the last 11 months will stay with me forever. He was my energy. I will miss him every single day. I know he’s with me in all my heart. My first dog ever. Gave me the best 11 months I could have ever imagined,” he added.

In the video, he went to thank his dog for providing him with wonderful memories this past 11 months. The heroic Rottweiler played a pivotal part in Coleman and his parents making it out alive of the burning house without suffering any loss of life. The depth of the intense situation further came to light when the UFC legend’s first response after recovery in the hospital surfaced online.

The Fight community was relieved to see Mark Coleman come back to his senses after going through such a horrific incident. However, despite going through such a tough battle inside the hospital, Coleman felt nothing but gratitude for being alive. In a video posted of the UFC legend awake in the hospital bed, he hugged his daughters and explained what had happened during the incident. He said, “I’m the happiest man in the world. Sweet God, I’m so lucky. I can’t believe my parents are alive. I had to make a decision because I got out of my room and went to the door and it was already horrible. I couldn’t breathe. I almost had to go outside and I went back in and got them. I can’t believe I got them but I couldn’t find Hammer.”

Mark Coleman and his family have gone through a very hard time and it was wholesome to see the UFC community rally up and help the family in times of need.
