Joe Rogan and Bobby Lee are the two people who have been around the comedy scene of the U.S. for quite some time. In their time, Lee and Rogan met many brilliant comedians and experimented with a lot of things. In a recent conversation, the two spoke about the downfall of Pablo Francisco and using drugs.

Francisco was a rising comedian who “should’ve been” the next big thing according to Rogan. However, he got embroiled with drugs, and eventually, a bad trip led to a bad gig in 2017. Citing his case, Rogan told Lee that he felt lucky that he was into Marijuana. Why?

Joe Rogan is thankful for Marijuana

The term recreational drugs implies that these substances help have a jolly good time. Except for Rogan, it wasn’t so. If anything, Marijuana gave him the opposite of confidence and courage. It didn’t do anything to lighten him up, which is something it’s famous for doing.

And that’s why, he was thankful that he wasn’t into anything else. The comedian admitted that the drug gave his nerves a shakeup that wasn’t ideal at all. In fact, it would discourage him fully. If he was into anything stronger, perhaps he could’ve had a fate similar to Francisco.

“I was really lucky that the thing that I was into is weed and that the thing I was into made me terrified.” Rogan confessed. “It made me paranoid. It was the opposite of giving me courage. It gave me no courage. Like Marijuana, Marijuana was a courage killer. Like it made me feel like courage was foolish. You’re so vulnerable. Life is vulnerable. And it made me appreciate people more like, legitimately.”

Clearly, Joe Rogan didn’t enjoy Marijuana as much as, say Snoop Dogg. Perhaps it opened up his eyes in ways he didn’t enjoy. The drug is very commonly known for inhibiting cognitive and motor functioning. And for a comedian to lose either on stage is disastrous, just like Francisco.

Rogan’s friendship with Lee

Joe Rogan is also good friends with his guest and fellow comedian Bobby Lee. Lee and Rogan once shared some time at a gentleman’s club. Here, an intoxicated Lee asked for a lap dance from a stripper whose boyfriend was right with her. And he just happened to be a gang member with two teardrop tattoos.

This, Joe Rogan explained, meant that he had been responsible for taking two lives. The UFC color commentator recalled how he was already leaving the club as the rest of the members started riling up. Lee, on the other hand, was completely unaware of it all. Finally, Rogan and friends managed to get him in a car and leave. What a beautiful start to a friendship!
