UFC 268 witnessed the second fight between Rose Namajunas and Zhang Weili. Unfortunately, Weili lost against Namajunas once again. However, several people agree that Weili’s performance was exceptionally good this time. It was a very close fight.
After tasting defeat during her first fight against Namajunas, Weili made several changes to her strategy and game plan. She made sure that she was well-prepared for her second bout. She even shifted her training camp to the USA and trained with former UFC champion Henry Cejudo.

Henry Cejudo praises Zhang Weili
Zhang Weili’s performance seems to have impressed her coach, Henry Cejudo. He took to Twitter to praise her improvement. He wrote, “In a 8 week camp you made tremendous growth. Many people had you winning the first 3 rounds of the fight but at the end of the day, the 3 judges is what matters. It’s been a honor to work with you champion and I know it’s only the beginning of Weili 2.0. China will rise again.”

Weili looked great in the fight and fans could see a lot of improvement. Therefore, it might be a good idea for Weili to continue training alongside Henry Cejudo and sharpen her skills; especially since Weili is interested in a trilogy fight against the American fighter.

Zhang Weili is an incredibly skilled athlete and has experienced only 3 losses in her entire MMA career. ‘Magnum’ has already lost twice against Namajunas. Hence, ‘Thug’ stands as a huge roadblock on Weili’s path to the top. If Weili wants to occupy the strawweight title once again, she will have to think of ways to defeat Namajunas.
