During his fight at UFC 276, Donald Cerrone was roped in as a last-minute replacement and took on Jim Miller. Cerrone lost the fight via a guillotine choke in the second round, much to the surprise of many. However, what followed was even more surprising as ‘Cowboy’ announced his retirement from the sport during the post-fight interview.
But just after two years after the announcement was made, he has now shown his willingness to come back again. However, this time, he has certain conditions before he steps into the Octagon. He took to his Instagram account to give out the details of his demands.

After seeing many UFC legends make a comeback in 2024, it seems Cerrone has also changed his mind. However, he has certain conditions in his mind, and during his Instagram video, he said, “I want to go back and get two more fights. I retired and I told I was getting my hair done and getting on ster***s. The number 50, has been sitting in my mind for a while. Working with Transcend for the last two years taking TRT and a bunch of peptides. Now we have a protocol for all of you. People, what did you get on? You can’t ever come off. Well, I now have come off and pissed clean. Fight in a few months so watch this.”

Cerrone has 48 fights under the UFC banner, which also includes his time in the WEC before it merged with the MMA juggernaut in 2006. He demands that he wants to compete two more times in the UFC, which will help him achieve something very few people have. Cerrone is now eyeing to reach 50 pro fights, which is a milestone in itself.
The 41-year-old has mentioned that he is enjoying his time in retirement and doesn’t have to worry about getting tested. However, only if he wants to get back to the Octagon he first needs to get back to the testing pool. Cerrone’s run before retiring in 2022 in the Octagon was nothing short of dismal. He has tasted the agony of defeat on six different occasions out of his last seven outings with a single no-contest in 2020. It will be interesting to see what the UFC decides to do after his recent Instagram post. As he decides to return to the Octagon, we take a look at some of the highlights of his career.

‘Cowboy’ received the greatest honor at UFC San Antonio after he was inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame, which is a dream for most MMA fighters. After the announcements, UFC CEO Dana White decided to congratulate the MMA legend in person, and the two shared a moment inside the arena. Doubtlessly, the MMA veteran was filled with a mixture of pride and gratitude after his years of hard work were rewarded.
Cerrone was one of the most popular UFC fighters of the modern era. His resume includes fighting some top contenders in the lightweight and welterweight divisions. As a result, there was an outpouring of love and support for ‘Cowboy’ after the announcement of his Hall of Fame induction was made. At his peak, he has fought the likes of Conor McGregor, Tony Ferguson, Nate Diaz, and Jorge Masvidal, to name a few.

“Cowboy” is currently ranked at the No. 3 spot for most fights in UFC history at 38. He is trailing behind only Andre Arlovski at 42 and Jim Miller at 44. He also holds the record for the second most UFC wins at 23 and is three fights behind Miller’s 26. Cerrone also finds himself in the books for holding the record for most finishes in UFC history.
However, Cerrone is way past his prime, and his recent run of form is nowhere close to his best. Head honcho Dana White has massive respect for the 41-year-old.
