Back in 2023, Jake Paul and Nate Diaz faced each other inside the squared ring for a 10-round bout. The battle went on for all 10 rounds and the judges unanimously scored the cards in favor of the YouTuber-turned-professional boxer. But ‘The Problem Child’ wasn’t done with the former UFC fighter. He wanted to fight the Stockton native once again, this time, inside a mixed martial arts cage. But with Diaz’s silence around it, Paul seemed to believe that the 39-year-old fighter is scared of facing him.
Not too long ago, during a press conference at the Most Valuable Prospects 10, in Orlando, Paul said, “We wanted to. But our opponents don’t actually really want to at that. So, it’s funny that Nate Diaz is actually scared of fighting me in MMA. The biggest payday of his life would be me and him in MMA. I’m ready.”
Well, ‘The Problem Child’ had previously ridiculed Diaz regarding a $15 million offer to compete at PFL. It was indeed after the Stockton native raised his voice and sued Jorge Masvidal‘s management for a breach of contract. Apparently, the Stockton native was paid only $1 million out of the promised $10 million for a fight. Weighing in on that, Paul quoted, “Guess that $15 million from PFL needs to be taken a little more seriously you dummy. Yesterday’s price is not today’s price. Oh, and Masvidal you [are] broke and can’t sell shit.”

Soon after the drama, the mixed martial artist went on X and clapped back at the YouTuber. He wrote, “Sign the contract Scary and not in 12 months from now and in a sh–-ty organization Scary.” Well, that’s what fight fans thought as well. They don’t really believe Nate Diaz is actually scared of facing Jake Paul, and revealed so in the comments section after MMA Fighting released Paul’s words on Instagram.

Fight fans don’t believe Jake Paul’s claims about scaring Nate Diaz
There was a time when Nate Diaz was ready to fight someone like Khamzat Chimaev. This proved the amount of courage that he had, making fans doubtful of Paul’s claims of Diaz being scared of him. A fan wrote, “Nate was gonna fight Khamzat but scared to fight Jake… makes no sense dog.” Meanwhile, another fan commented, “Diaz fought some of the baddest dudes in the game and he scared of you?? 😂😂😂”. One user wrote, “Sure he is buddy keep telling yourself that.”
A few of the fans found it all funny. After all, this wasn’t the first time ‘The Problem Child’ made such a claim. He has often accused fighters of being scared especially after they refuse to fight him. One fan wrote, “Isn’t it funny that everyone “scared” to fight him either has stipulations not letting them fight Jake or are just too high level.” Another fan claimed that the same tricks by Jake Paul wouldn’t work anymore. The comment read, “Bro it’s over. Nobody’s falling for this s–t again.”

Fans even showered disappointment on the media for asking such questions. A fan commented, “So cringey how he gets asked these questions about old retired fighters.” But the fans were quick to bring up Paul’s habit of fighting old and retired fighters. One fan wrote, “Bro can only fight mma retired fighters.” Another fan commented, “Just fight someone under 40.” Some fans even dragged in the controversy of the Paul vs. Mike Tyson bout being fixed, with one comment reading, “Let’s be honest here Jake is just [paying] Nate 1million$ so he can win just like how Jake played to win against Mike.”
But what do you think of Paul’s claims? Do you think Paul can assert dominance in the MMA cage as well? Let us know what you think in the comments down below.
