It seems like Ian Garry finally has an opponent ready to co-main at the iconic Conor McGregor vs Michael Chandler card. The Future was behind Colby Covington for the UFC 303 bout but was sadly turned down. This was followed by the rumors of Joaquin Buckley being approached to fight Garry, but it was also turned down by ‘New Mansa’. After claiming that he had no other options for a high-ranking fighting opponent because everyone was either injured or engaged in other bouts, the 26-year-old showed a willingness to fight Michael Page.

As per Garry, Page’s team was hesitant to accept the offer because the fighter seemed on the heavier side of weight to have the weigh-in within seven weeks. However, ‘Venom’ has finally cleared his stance on the potential bout while also taking a dig at Garry.

In an interaction with Sky Sports, Michael Page gave his honest opinion about Garry while also calling out the bluff that Garry told the media about having opponent options. Though ‘Venom’ seemed skeptical about Garry’s indecisiveness regarding his opponents, he revealed that he has given his confirmation for the fight and is ready to feature in the UFC 303 event. also added that he accepted the fight with Garry.

“I have accepted the fight,” revealed Page. When asked by the host if he had signed any contract for the fight on June 29th, ‘Venom’ added, “I just said I am happy to fight, but there has been no offer…” Though Page is ready for a co-main event alongside McGregor vs Chandler, he seemed more in favor of fighting at Manchester and even took a jibe at Garry for chasing the limelight.

“I could do the fight next week, or the week after. He likes to just hang on the back of people’s coattails. He sees Conor McGregor and gets excited and now he has just changed it,” added the 37-year-old. While it is yet to be seen if the fight between Garry and Page will materialize, the latter was never the first choice for the 26-year-old as he was looking to take on Covington.

Colby Covington rejected Garry’s proposal for UFC 303

Covington also replied that there were three stipulations, and he provided Garry with a good deal for the fight. However, Garry could not stand up to it and Covington declared that if there was a second time, the same offer would not be so friendly. The veteran added, “The next time this comes back around, that deal is not gonna be so sweet. He’s gonna have to learn the basic principle of life.”
