Chiasson’s girlfriend, and now wife is a well-known flute professor at the University of Texas. In addition to being a professor, Leffler is also a Miyazawa flute artist. Her excellence in music is well-known across the state.

The POTUS passed the Respect for Marriage Act back ͏in 2022, and alongside other queer people in the country, ͏Hannah Chia͏sson also celebrat͏ed the his͏toric signing by sharing a heartfelt post ͏for everyone. Chiasson’s wife added a photo of them together and captioned it, “We aren’t 100% where we want to be as a country, but we, along with countless other same sex couples, breathed a huge sigh of relief today.”

She further added, “We should have always had the same rights as everyone else, but at least with the Respect for Marriage Act signed today, we know that our rights will be respected by law. And that is worth a celebration.” Chiasson later responded to her message with a few red heart emojis.
