Former UFC stars Luke Rockhold and Mike Perry will butt heads this weekend at BKFC 41 in Colorado. Both Perry and Rockhold have a reputation among the fans for their persona. While former UFC welterweight Mike Perry has a bit of an unhinged persona, Rockhold is often the butt of jokes for his unsuccessful attempts at trash talk. Therefore, it was not entirely surprising to see the recent exchange play out between the pair.

Ahead of their BKFC bout this weekend, both Perry and Rockhold appeared on ‘The MMA Hour’ featuring Ariel Helwani. As expected, the pair went back and forth on the show, with Perry even going as far as to talk about Rockhold’s mom. The former middleweight champion did not have many comebacks to Perry’s jibes, but hopefully that won’t be the case on Saturday.

During their session on ‘The MMA Hour’, Mike Perry promised that he would send Luke Rockhold home in their fight at BKFC 41. ‘Platinum’ was going full speed ahead, talking trash to his opponent’s face.

He said, “Luke’s mom wants me to win. That’s who wants me to win. So her baby boy will go home and stop this fight.” He continued, “I’m gonna send him packing, mom. You look like your mom still does your laundry. She made your bed this morning? She feed you apple sauce by the spoon?”

“I do everything myself. I’ve been that way for 20 years,” was the only response Rockhold had for Perry. While the 38-year-old may not have won the trash talk, Rockhold is fired up for the bout this weekend.

He had previously revealed that Israel Adesanya’s UFC 287 win had motivated him for his own fight.

Israel Adesanya delivered a memorable moment in MMA history when he beat Alex Pereira at UFC 287. Former champion Luke Rockhold was also among those that were inspired by Adesanya overcoming ‘Poatan.’

Rockhold said in an interview, “Yeah [found Adesanya’s KO inspiring]. No doubt. Definitely, this has been, you know, I inspired Izzy when he was younger and he’s inspiring me now.” He also added, “You need to draw inspiration from everybody. He was a f***ing gangster.”

Rockhold came out of retirement for the love of competition and Mike Perry is all set to welcome him back. Do you think Rockhold will have an Adesanya-like moment at BKFC 41?
