Not so long ago, the president of Bare Knuckle Championship, David Feldman, made a huge announcement that Luke Rockhold was signed to his promotion. The former UFC middleweight champion will have his debut fight at BKFC against fellow UFC veteran Mike Perry. The 38-year-old has already proven that he is one of the best pound-for-pound fighters while he was at the peak of his career at the UFC. However, after losing the rematch against Michael Bisping at UFC 199, Rockhold‘s fighting career faced a tumultuous time.
He was only able to win one fight out of the four bouts he fought afterward. This eventually led to the American fighter retiring from MMA. Nonetheless, soon the 38-year-old decided to try his hand at boxing. ‘Platinum’ Mike Perry, who was a fellow UFC fighter of Rockhold, will now face him at 185 pounds for the main event at BKFC 41. Furthermore, the recent social media exchanges between the two fighters made it clear that they were having a bitter rivalry prior to their clash.

The indirect jab from Mike Perry
‘Platinum’ used his Instagram account to share a video of Michael Bisping posted by Sportskeeda. In the video, ‘The Count’ heard saying, “Jones is a bigger guy. He has put on some weight, you know? Maybe not the best weight, but as we know, when we look at Fedor Emelianenko, you don’t need to be a six-pack to be a great fighter. Tyson Fury, the best boxer we have got on planet Earth right now, in the heavyweight, is not winning any bodybuilding competitions any time soon.”

Perry shared the video to his Instagram story and wrote, “I would fight you at 200 lbs but y’ll gotta make it worth my while.” After writing these words, along with the shared video, ‘Platinum’ tagged his opponent, Luke Rockhold, BKFC, and his manager, Ibrahim Kawa, to make sure that his message reaches the right people.
The 31-year-old wanted to convey that, even though Rockhold has a better physique than Perry, it does not mean that the former is a better fighter.
