The former UFC lightweight and featherweight champ, Conor McGregor is arguably the greatest draw in UFC history. Regardless of whether he wins or loses, fight fans will always pay to watch him fight again. No fighter has ever come close to his ability to sell fights. But it has been quite some time since he last stepped inside the octagon. So how will that affect his ability to fight and also sell fights?

The long layoff will most likely help with the PPV sales. However, the same cannot be said for how he would perform inside the ring. The thing with McGregor is that we can never be certain. His return fight against Donald Cerrone was one of the most dominating fights in his career, meanwhile, in his return fight against Dustin Poirier, he got knocked out. McGregor is most likely to fight Michael Chandler for his return. So what will be in store for him after the fight? Here’s what UFC legend Michael Bisping had to say.

Michael Bisping, in one of his recent videos on his YouTube channel, gave his take on Conor McGregor’s return. Bisping talked about the last time the Irishman stepped inside the Octagon by stating, “By the time it comes to international fight week, three years since the last time we saw Conor McGregor.”

Bisping also talked about McGregor’s possible fight with Chandler. He later stated, “If he gets through Michael Chandler, he’s going to have a ton of options.” Bisping further added, “If he wins, I see he gets a title shot against Islam Machachev. If he loses, the aforementioned Dustin Poirier, there’s unfinished business there.” He concluded the topic by stating, “Conor McGregor, regardless win or lose, he has a lot of big fights.” It would not be impractical to think that McGregor might actually get a title fight with Islam Machachev if he beats Chandler, considering how big that fight would be.

It is quite interesting to hear Bisping’s take on McGregor’s return. And he does make sense. McGregor, till his last fight, will probably be the biggest draw for the UFC. But regardless, winning will bring in more hype than losing. So how would his fight against Chandler play out?
